Sporty Spice

It was a hot day and we were running some local errands, so I wanted to be comfortable. However, I was dying to wear this new marigold, button down jersey dress that I picked up for BOG3 Free! Not sure why, but I really thought my Adislides and matching Adidas mini backpack (which I've have over 20 years!!!)  would look cute with it-- a sporty look. Since the dress has brown buttons, I wore a brown wooden bangle, a brown wooden and gold statement necklace, and brown wooden earrings. For makeup:  marigold, brown and navy shadows and navy liner to pull together the random navy I wore.

Big POPPY

Big Papi is out of the hospital, so what better way to celebrate than wear a POPPY dress?! Just kidding- I don't plan my outfits, that much...

I bought this dress a couple weeks ago and was so excited wearing it today, that I'm doing a same-day post (not to mention the second post today)! With this poppy print high-low wrap dress, I wore coral strappy lace-up stiletto sandals, an orange, coral and gold beaded necklace, and gold and coral stick earrings. For make-up, I wore light blue and brown shadows (to match the brown branches in the print) and brown liner with red-orange lipstick. I wore my hair twisted up in three knots, with red ribbon intertwined. This dress was so fun to match with and it felt so flowy and feminine.

Work or Play- yellow kimono

I purchased this bohemian, marigold and multi-color kimono at the beginning of the summer. Since then, I have worn it with mint accessories and navy for work and with pink for the weekend. There are so many colors that I can play with, though, I think I liked the casual look more. For the navy/work outfit, I wore a navy tank and pencil skirt and mint green shoes, a mint green statement necklace, mint green studs and mint green medallion earrings that went very well with the Bohemian pattern. For the pink/weekend version of the outfit, I wore marigold tie shorts, a pink tank and pink sandals with pink rose studs- to go with the flowers in the kimono this time, and a pink handbag. In both cases, I wore almost all the same makeup, except changed it up with an iridescent mint green and blue shadows and liners. Still- marigold shadow and light pink lipstick.

The grass is (not) always greener on the other side

I've always liked this multi-color, mock neck, pleated blouse since it's most of my favorite colors together. I bought it probably about 10 years ago, so it's a little snug, but I can't seem to part with it. With the top, I wore a brown pencil skirt and gold sandals. For jewelry, I have a metal multi-color, rose statement necklace that matches perfectly and green rose studs that go with the necklace perfectly!! For makeup, I wore a nude lipstick, brown shadow and a teal liner. For hair, I always like a high bun with mock-necks, and I added a brown hair wrap that used to be a decoration on a pair of gauchos I used to have. 😁

Blush

I wore this outfit for Easter and, sadly, hadn't worn this top since! This blouse has lace bell short sleeves, embroidered with purple flowers. (Like it was made for me or something- lace and flowers, not to mention it's blush...) With the top, I wore a pink pencil skirt and blush ruffle flats. I wore purple drop earrings to go with the purple flowers and pink rose studs, as well as a purple ribbon in my hair, which was pinned in three knots. For makeup, I wore purple liner and pink and purple shadows with pink lipstick.

Top: Charmed and Dangerous, $24(?)
Skirt: Nordstrom Rack, $19.99
Flats: ??? (I wish I remembered so I could buy more of the same pair!)

I 💗 Floral Patterns

I recently purchased this floral and bird patterned kimono for 75% off at a local boutique. You may have found that I like colorful and patterned clothing (particularly floral)- it's fun to coordinate with. For work, I wore a beige pencil skirt and a coral sleeveless top underneath, with brown wedge sandals. To pull more brown in, I also wore a brown tank underneath my top. For jewelry (the most fun part to coordinate), I wore a peach rose bracelet and peach rose earrings, a second set of peach rose studs, and a coral and peach beaded necklace alogn with a coral leaf ring. For makeup: brown and marigold shadows, blue liner and coral lip crayon.

Still Princess-y

I wear this multi-color landscape skirt maybe once a summer, but it really is so pretty! Someone told me a couple years ago that it reminded them of a Disney Princess and it really does have that vibe. This time, I wore the skirt with a cobalt sleeveless top and a black corset belt with black peeptoe pumps. There is some black detail in the skirt, but it does work well with all of the colors. If I wore colorful shoes, etc., I would look like a paint palette. For jewelry, I wore red rose studs to go with the red flowers in the skirt. And, for makeup, I wore pale yellow and dark blue shadows and red lipstick. I wore my hair in a high messy bun with a black head wrap, which disperses the black evenly throughout the outfit.

What's NOT missing?

a.k.a. Fishnet, Now you SEA me, now you don't, Windchime necklace

(So many possible names for this outfit)

I usually like to keep this outfit for the first day of summer, but I think I was traveling during that time and forgot! I think of this as summery mostly because of a necklace I am wearing- rope, seashells and teal and white accents. With it, I matched a teal, seafoam and cream psychadelic-print skirt, a seafoam high-low, ruffly top, and mint green heels. But, the one crazy (and noisy) necklace wouldn't cut it-- I had other jewlery that matched perfectly, so I also wore a mint, teal and gold multi-tiered beaded necklace along with a white and light seafoam green beaded bracelet and gold stick earrings. (There is gold in both necklaces.)

For makeup, I wore seafoam green shadow, teal liner and gold lip gloss.

What's Missing?

A few weeks ago, I wore this floral and stripe printed lace racerback tank with a matching pink cardigan and black pencil skirt. Because of the flowers and the lace, I wore black wedge sandals with flower details and two pairs of black rose studs along with a black rose breacelet. What's missing? A skinny belt I would normally wear with a black rose pin!

For makeup, I wore black shadow and a bubblegum pink lip gloss.

- earrings: eBay
-Bracelet: warehouse sale, $2  (definitely worth the money for the amount I wear it!)

Hendrix and the Blues

On this day, we were going to our favorite local dive bar for some Blues music. I figured it was appropriate to wear this grey Jimi Hendrix tee, which has some teal in it. So, I wore silver and teal (very Native-American turqoise looking jewelry): an old, long necklace and an old earring/necklace set in additon to some black thread earrings and a silver, aqua beaded leather wrap bracelet. I also added a cabby hat, just because it matched. And, then because it was warm- cutoffs and grey flip-flops. For makeup, I wore charcoal shadow and a bright lipstick.

Tee: birthday gift one year
Jewelry:
-Long silver with faux turquoise beads: used to be my grandmother's)
-Silver and turquoise beaded earring and necklace set: hand-me-down from Aunt; maybe from the  70s or 80s
-Thread earrings: eBay, 3/prs, $3.99
-Wrap bracelet: warehouse sale, $2

Makeup: Ulta
