Spring needs to be on the way

It was a warm New England winter day- 50 degrees! Didn't even need a jacket!
I had just been wanting to wear these purple drape pants (haven't worn them since last year with COVID) so planned around them. I thought charcoal would tone them down a little, so I added charcoal ankle boots and a dark grey cardigan. I picked out this multicolor butterfly statement necklace to go and a fuschia tank- the necklace would pull together the two colors. I added gunmetal spike earrings and a wavy ring to match the metal on the necklace and the silver zipper on the back of my pants. I had a couple of other pairs of earrings picked out, but it was too much color- best to keep simple.

For a handbag, I used this multicolor tie-dyed wristlet. For makeup: charcoal eye shadow, purple eyeliner, and fuschia lipstick.

I'm blushing

It was raining the other day, so you know what that means-- pick out an outfit to match my burgundy rain boots. I had been wanting to wear this sheer mauve vest anyway, in spirit of the V-day season. Since the floral design on the vest has hints of burgundy, I was able to match it up with a maroon long-sleeved tee, maroon tights and, then blush ankle boots. I wore a black pencil skirt to break up the colors a bit.  For accessories: a maroon headband, maroon tassel earrings, maroon leave broach, blush flower ring and a blush handbag and scarf. For makeup: burgundy shadow and blush lipstick.

Vest: Charmed and Dangerous: $22
Long sleeved tee: Kohl's, $5
Rain boots: Nordstrom Rack: $24
Ankle boots: The Shoe Dept, $35
Handbag: TJ Maxx, clearance, Nine&Co., $18-22

Rose, Dorothy or Blanche?

I walked up to my husband a few nights ago and asked "does this match?" His response: "If you're a Golden Girl."

I still went on to put together this outfit- a fuchsia blazer with a fuchsia, teal, black and white floral skirt. With it, I wore a teal dolman tee, black knee-high boots, and a black scarf. For additional accessories: a teal rose cocktail ring, shiny fuchsia dangly earrings, a fuchsia winter beret outdoors, and a teal mask. For makeup: white and teal shadows and fuchsia lipstick.

Vintage earrings

I was wearing maroon again for Valentine's Day and remembered that these earrings matched, so I decided to accessorize around them. Since the earrings have teal in them, I added a teal headband, cuff bracelet, ring and necklace. For makeup, I wore maroon and teal shadows and maroon lip gloss.

Roses are red....

Well, it was the week leading up to Valentine's Day and, as your may know, it's my favorite Holiday. I've been trying to wear red and pink for the past couple weeks, but I don't go into the office enough to wear it all. This top is one of my favorites- a sheer, ruffly, floral mock neck, which I wore with maroon skinny pants and matching ankle boots. For accessories, I added a maroon headband to a messy bun (it was snowing out, so why bother with my hair?) and peach rose earrings and bracelet (not a set) as well as a cream rose ring. For makeup: peach and maroon shadows and lip gloss, forest green eyeliner.

Top: JC Penney, sale, $6-11
Pants: TJ Maxx, $16
Shoes: Rue 21, $15

A reason to look forward to rain

It was raining on this day, so I was (pseudo) excited to wear my new ankle rain boots- maroon and adorned with a bow on the back. *SO cute* I fell in love with these when I saw them online and thought about them for a couple months before I finally ordered. I was in need of new rain boots since the ones I have are pretty old (at least 10 years) and falling apart. So, I saw these as an opportunity since they were so darn cute and since they match a lot of things I wear. SO, I made sure I wore maroon this day with a ruffle shoulder, cutout sweater and a floral and lace scarf. I tucked my hair into a lacy head-wrap to go with the lace on the scarf, and wore maroon tassel earrings and black rose studs.

Later on, after my legs were being cut into from the new rain boots (ouch!), I changed into maroon chunky heel ankle boots. Only I would find high heels more comfortable.

For makeup: Ulta, maroon lip gloss and shadow

Ponte pants: Amazon, $14
Sweater: Express, a few year ago, sale, $20ish

Easter in February/Shades of Pink

I fell in love with this multicolor space-dye pastel, ruffle-shoulder sweater a couple months ago. I waited for it to go on sale and then ordered! I was so excited to wear it when I returned to the office again and even ordered this matching pink tights. (I really dislike pastel with black, so made sure I didn't have to incorporate black into this outfit via tights or a tank, etc.) What ended up happening, however, was pink explosion-- 4 different shades of pink. Next time, I think I'll wear navy with this sweater. To be continued....

Timeless treasure

This sweater is from the 80 or 90s and was handed down to me from my Aunt. It seems like a timeless piece- a charcoal angora mockneck sweater-- one can wear it with jeans, faux leather pants, a skirt, dress pants etc. Here, I wore it with a faux satin fuscia skirt and grey knee- high boots. For accessories, I used a fuscia hand bag and fuscia and purple adorned gold hoops. Outdoors, I wore a fuscia beret. For makeup- charcoal shadow and fuscia lipstick.

Boots: Kohl's, Black Friday a couple years ago, $17.99

Valentine's Day is on its way💕

Since I will have limited days to wear all my Valentine's Day colors, I started before February even hit. This outfit is from last week. I wore red, purple and black plaid skinny pants with a purple mock neck top, and a red parka. For jewelry, I wore purple chandelier earrings and a very well matching bib necklace-- these are not a matching set, believe it or not! For shoes: black ankle booties. Makeup: purple shadow and red lipstick.

Pants and top: NY&Co., 2019, $25/$17ish?

Shawl: hand-me-down, came with a matching sweater dress. I no longer have the dress, but always keep a simple cardigan or parka because you will always be able to do something with it!

Necklace: Bebe, given to me from Godmother years ago

Earrings: K-Mart, clearance sale, $0.99 cents!

Furry friend

I ordered this puggy-wearing-a-hat sweater recently and decided to wear it out to run errands a couple weeks ago. I couldn't resist how cute it was for the price even if it's a little preppy for my taste. With it, I wore cargo jeans and knee-high brown boots. FUR accessories (get it?!), I used a pink handbag to match the puggy's hat and pink chandelier earrings. For makeup: pink and brown shadows.

Sweater and jeans: Outlet Loft, $16/$28
Boots: Rue 21, $15
Handbag: Nine West, TJ Maxx, clearance, $20ish
Earrings: Birthday gift from a friend, Anne Taylor

Orange you glad I didn't say banana?

Last weekend, I put on real clothes for once, so I had to make it meaningful. I love the rust accessories and apparel I collected last winter: a rust ruffle-sleeve sweater, matching ankle boots, faux fur jacket, a ring and beaded hoop earrings. With all of this, I wore an orange Andy Warhol Marilyn print bag and decided to add a scarf with orange and olive to go. For makeup: rust shadow. For matching pets: Maxwell. 💗🐦

Sweater: Rainbow Shops: $16
Shoes: Amazon, $15
Jacket: Amazon, $16
Scarf: borrowed from mother
Earrings and ring: Warehouse sale, $2/ $1
Handbag: Marshall's, years ago

Cute as a button

I was very excited to wear this mock neck button-up midi dress and it made my day going back into the office not as terrible. I scored this from Anne Taylor for $19.99!! Though, I wish I had snagged the camel one faster- I waited too long to check out. With this dress, I wore camel ankle boots and antique gold and beaded hoop earrings (the beads have some browns and black and swirly designs that go with the buttons on the dress.) For outdoors, I wore a camel knit beret, a camel handbag and a long, black coat. For makeup: camel and black shadows and a bright lipstick.

FALL-en flower petals

We were supporting the local businesses downtown and, since I never get to wear regular clothes anymore, I thought it would be cute to wear this country-bumpkin-with-a-flair outfit. Here, I'm wearing a floral summer maxi dress, but to make it wearable for a different season, I added ruffly cold shoulder sweater over it and marigold accessories: beret, belt, ankle boots and handbag. I added a ruffly antique rose shawl rather than wear a jacket since we were in and out of places. For makeup: marigold and navy shadows and a navy liner. Jewelry: pink and gold acrylic earrings.

Sweater: Express, sale, $18-20

Split pea

I recently bought this burgundy long sleeve, split tunic last month. Kind of too cute to wear to work with no one around, but it's nice to wear normal clothes for once, these days. With the tunic, I wore black ponte pants and burgundy high heel ankle boots.

For accessories: I added a skinny black belt, a burgundy floppy hat, and a burgundy and chrome necklace and chrome wavy ring with chrome spike earrings.

For makeup: burgundy eye shadow and lip gloss.

Olives and oranges

I recently picked up this skirt at a boutique garage sale for about $5-7. It was a little more snug than I had hoped, but still love the possibilities: burnt orange, olive, teal, (regular) orange (note the other jewelry I laid out that matches). Here, I wore an olive knit poncho with black tights and ankle boots. I was tossed up at first and had originally planned on the burnt orange, but liked the black more. For earrings, I was also tossed up on the burnt orange beaded or the olive flowers. Apparently, I was tossed up on necklaces, too because I wore two - one orange beaded with a medallion and one rust and olive stone. For makeup: olive and burnt orange shadows and teal eyeliner. While in the rain, I wore an olive rain poncho and a teal mask.

Skirt: $5-7, Charmed and Dangerous
(Indoor) poncho: hand-me-down

Shoes: NY&Co.

Tweed-y Bird

It was a warm fall day the other day, so I wore this mock neck tweed and color-block sleeveless top with a black pencil skirt, charcoal tights and ankle boots to match. For accessories, a charcoal headband and oversized black dot studs. For makeup, to keep a classy look, I went with red lipstick and charcoal and pale yellow shadows.

Top: NY&Co., Sale, ??

Ankle boots: The Shoe Store, $20 (also a few years ago)

A little birdie told me...

It may be fall, but I really wanted to wear this multi-color bird scarf with some other colors. Over the summer, I wore it a lot with marigold, but there are so many other colors that I could spend all day making outfits with it! Here, I wore the scarf with a fuchsia skirt and navy cardigan with navy tights and blue ankle boots. For accessories, I wore a fuchsia panda ring and multi-shades-of-pink tassel earrings and carried a fuchsia handbag. For makeup: fuchsia lipstick, navy and teal shadows and teal liner. (if only I could fit every shadow color on my eyelids, I would look like Rainbow Brite!)

Cardigan: hand-me-down from Aunt
Skirt: TJ Maxx, clearance, $8
Scarf: BIRDay gift from a friend
Shoes: Kohl's, sale + coupon, $24
Earrings and ring: jewelry warehouse sale, $2, $1
Handbag: magnetic and inter-changeable, Holiday gift

Election Day

It's (finally) Election Day, so I wore red and blue to be in the spirit. The only white in this outfit is in my mesh red, white and blue beaded bib necklace. To go with the gold tone and the gold zipper no one can see on my navy skirt, I added a gold belt and wore gold stick earrings as well as eyeshadow. Also worn- navy eyeshadow and liner and red lipstick and red rose studs. I wore a red blouse and cardigan with navy tights and blue faux velvet ankle boots. Now, GO VOTE!

Shades of yellow

I decided to pull marigold and burgundy together to match a floral scarf. However, it seems I may have worn two different tones of marigold in looking at these photos. I wore a (lighter) marigold sheer high-low blouse with burgundy ponte pants and marigold chunky heels and a marigold handbag. For accessories: black rose earrings (to go with the flowers on the scarf), yellow tassle earrings, and the scarf. For makeup: marigold and burgundy shadows and burgundy lip gloss.
