Zig Zag

A couple weeks ago, when it was warmer, I wore this high-low multi-color chevron blouse with a navy skirt. Since the blouse has gold buttons down the back, I make sure to match my jewelry as such, not to mention my skirt has a gold zipper in the back. For jewelry, I wore a long, coral and gold beaded necklace, gold stick earrings with coral accent beads, a matching gold and coral leave ring, and gold and coral bangles. (Coral was my color a couple years ago, so I collected a lot.) Since I never made it to my heels that day, I wore gold flat sandals. For makeup: gold and navy shadows, coral lip-crayon, and navy eyeliner.

Aztec Art

I was going out shopping with my little niece one night. Since it was cooler, I wore jeans and a cute Aztec patterned high-low tee and navy flip flops to match (also, a navy tank underneath the tee). Since the tee is teal, I used a matching handbag and wore a faux turqouise and silver statement necklace with silver loop dangle earrings.I figured the turqoise would, both, match and kind of go with the patterm. For makeup: teal and navy shadows with a muted lipgloss.

This shirt witnessed a birth

This striped tee with a lace bib accent, is a little more on the casual side, so I try to only wear it to work in the summer. Here, I wore it with a black pencil skirt and nude chunky heel sandals. in-between driving and office, I wore beige flats. For accessories: black rose studs and a black rose bracelet, to go with the lace. For makeup: beige, cream and black shadows and a bright lipstick. Maxwell is a fan!!! 🠫

The Cat's Meow

I hadn't worn this sheer, leopard print shawl in a long time, or at least not this summer. Moreover, I needed to wear these nude block heel sandals sometime this summer and the shawl happened to match. With it, I wore a black flutter-sleeve blouse and a black pencil skirt. For accessories: a nude handbag and gold hoop earrings with black and brown beads. For makeup: camel and black shadows and gold lipgloss.

I have a rule not to wear more than one leopard print item together at one tim- it's too much.

Holy flowers, Batman!

One day last week, I wore this cream, floral, cutout, mock-neck sleeveless top with a blush pencil skirt. Since I work in what feels like Antarctica, I paired this with a cerulean 3/4 cardigan to go with the teal green leaves in the floral pattern. For jewelry: cream and blush bangles, pink rose studs and teal rhinestone hoops, and a cream rose ring, blush flower ring, and a large teal rose ring. For makeup: blush and teal shadows and blush lipstick.

In looking at these photos now, I said to myself, "What was I thinking?"
Do YOU think the teal rose ring too much???! Does it go with the top?

Too soon?

I had this outfit in my head for a little while- a black mock neck sleeveless top with beige and black plaid skirt (you would have seen the skirt in the fall, winter or spring). I decided to wear them together last week with black platform peep-toe pumps, black tassle earrings and a beige lattice head wrap. For makeup, red-orange lipstick and black and tan shadows.

However, I feel as though I should have waited for school to pick back up again since this outfit seems more like a studious/librarian outfit. This will likely make another appearance very soon!

Mock neck top: Kohl's, $12?
Shoes: have had, Burlington Coat Factory?
Earrings: NY&Co., clearance, $8

Ssssssssssssssssssssssnake print

I hadn't yet worn this snakeprint patterned, rust and beige top this summer, so here it is with a black, assymmetrical skirt. In fact, the skirt hadn't been worn in a long time, either. There is not much to this outfit other than I wore beige flats (never even made it to my heels that day, which happens a lot in the summer), and, especially, these hand-beaded earrings that were made for me by a friend. The colors and patterns both match pretty well. For makeup: brown shadow and maroon lipgloss (not shown).

Top: hand-me-down from Godmother a few years ago

Green=Vegetation

We went to a reggae show a few weeks back, so I thought it would be appropriate to wear some Jamaican colors. It also helped that I picked up this (super cute) green and white striped off-the-shoulder button down blouse last month on clearance, that I had been wanting to wear. With it, I wore cutoffs and matching green and yellow sandals, that happened to have a plant pattern on them. (Green and yellow are two of the Jamaican flag colors, green meaning vegetation). For jewelry, I wore a yellow peace bangle, a beaded rasta-color bracelet (although, I am not rasta), green rose earrings and black and god tassle earrings. For makeup, not shown below, I had on black and gold shadows and gold lip gloss from earlier that day.

Top: Charming Charlie's, clearance, BOG3 free, approx. $5
Sandals: Rainbow Shops: $8
Peace bangle: Rue 21, clearance, years ago?
Rasta bracelet: necklace-turned bracelet, gift from mother?

Shimmy shimmy yo shimmy yay

At a clearance garage sale, I picked up this cream/gold shimmer sleeveless blouse that is adorned with antique lace and a gold zipper down the back- had my name all over it. Thankfully, it was my size and I scored it for $15! On a relaxed Friday, I wore the more casual top with a black pencil skirt and a cream blazer with gold sandals (never made it to my heels that day). For accessories, I wore an antique lace head wrap along with cream lace metal earrings, a cream rose ring, and cream and gold shimmer bracelets. For makeup: gold, cream and black shadows with gold lip-gloss.

Paint Pattern

A few years ago, a friend gifted me this high-low multi-color patterned top. Here, I wore it with a  (get ready for this) black pencil skirt. The pattern in the top, which is one of the best materials ever, consists of different shades of blues and greens, so for eyeshadows, I wore neon yellow/green, and denim. For lipstick, I kept with a nude to offset the other colors. And, for jewelry: handmade silver dangle earrings and a silver dangly necklace along with a silver ring. The earrings and necklace go with the pattern in the top. For the cold office, I added a black blazer.

Top: Vera Wang, Kohl's, birthday gift
Blazer: hand-me-down from Godmother
Earrings: a birthday or Holiday gift years ago

simple.

I bought this light blue lace-bib tank a year or two ago at H&M. It's cotton, which makes it kind of casual, but it looks nice with these high-waist, pleated black dress pants and a blazer. I'm sure I've also worn it with a pencil skirt. To go with the floral lace pattern, I wore a black rose bracelet and two pairs of black rose earrings. For shoes- black heels. For hair, I wore a high, messy bun and added a black headband. For makeup, I used this multi-shade blue eyeshadow palette, which also includes black, and bright lipstick. Simple but, professional and cute.

Top: H&M, $7.99

Blazer: Charmed and Dangerous, clearance, approx. $24?

Blush and C.R.E.A.M.- winter and summer

Last time I wore this sheer, vintage lace vest was back in the spring, when it was still chilly (see post here. This time, I decided to keep with the same color scheme but only in summer clothing- charcoal grey bottoms, a blush blouse and blush sandals or heels to match. I did change up the accessories a bit- in the spring, I wore cream metal lace earrings and a cream rose statement necklace and, this time, I wore a blush, cream and antique gold charm necklace and antique gold back/front stick earrings. For both outfits, however, I did wear the same two rings- cream rose and a blush flower- and blush and cream bangles as well as cream, blush and black eyeshadow and light pink lipstick.

You will also see another outfit below that I wore last week, that is very similar- same blush blouse with a black tulip skirt. With it, I wore the same cream rose necklaxce, bracelets and rings as the winter/spring outfit. For earrings, I wore black rose studs. This outfit ends up being a combination of both the winter and summer outfits.

I like the winter/spring outfit the most.  Do you have a vote?
