Night and day

I wore this tie-dye kimono back in May on a weekend and to work last week, so I figured I'd combine the two into one post. I'm liking it much more with a casual outfit- the work one 'works', but it's so soft with all he pink. For work, I wore the kimono with a blush skirt and blouse with a light blue tank underneath. For casual, I wore jeans and two tanks- pink and blue. In each case, I wore (some) different jewelry and makeup: casual: coral and blue shadows with blue eyeliner; work: blush and blue shadows with blue eyeliner. Jewelry: casual: gold hoops and one, long peach beaded necklace and a peach rose bracelet, peach rose  studs, a gold blue and white beaded fringe necklace; work: pink acrylic earrings, blue pearl studs, the same blue and white necklace, and a headband. For both days, I used this periwinkle blue woven handbag- it has a tassel, which happens to match the tassels the kimono; I also wore the same blush flats with both outfits.

...a newspaper

I normally dislike red, black and white together, but I wanted to match this black and white color-block handbag lined with red.  *insert eyeroll here if you want*   So here, I wore a red sleeveless blouse with black and white plaid skinny pants and a black blazer with black pointy flats. For jewelry, I got to try out this black and white necklace/bracelet set I got for my birthday; I added another, long, black and white beaded necklace and silver long earrings. For makeup: red lipstick (way too much) black shadow.

Pants: hand-me-down from Godmother
Blazer and handbag: Charmed and Dangerous Boutique, sale, approx. $24; Bag: garage sale: $5

Circus clown

I haven't posted in a few weeks, so I do have a bunch of outfits to get caught up on. Two things have changed since I posted last: no more masks (I'm vacc'd!!!) and the warmer weather finally!

This was a cooler day in May, so I wore this ruffle-shoulder marigold sweatshirt with matching flats. But, then, I added an aqua blue, multi-color scarf (which I also have in marigold) and added a pink tank and pink handbag. For jewelry: artsy dangly earrings made out of magazine and a silver aqua-stone statement ring. For makeup: marigold and aqua shadows and a blush lipstick.

Ketchup & Mustard v.2

Second day in a row it was raining so, again, I stuck with maroon rain boots and mustard. Here, I wore a maroon waterfall cardigan over a mustard, long, ruffly blouse with the same scarf and earrings as the day before- floral and lace with mustard tassel, and jeans. Makeup: mustard and maroon shadows and maroon lip gloss.

Cardigan: hand-me-down from Godmother
Mustard top: hand-me-down from Aunt
Scarf, earrings and makeup: see the previous post

Ketchup & Mustard or Stevie Ray Vaughn

We were on a staycation at this time, but it was a rainy week, so started with my maroon rain boots. From there, I wore a maroon long sleeve tee under a mustard waterfall cardigan and black ponte pants. My inspiration for always wearing maroon and mustard together is this floral and lace scarf. For other accessories, I added this maroon floppy hat, adorned with a fluffy ball-- just call me Stevie Ray-- and a mustard handbag and tassel earrings. For makeup: maroon and black shadows and maroon lipgloss.

Long sleeve tee and hat: Kohl's, $6/clearance: $9
Pants and earrings: Amazon, $14/set of  3prs: $6

One-eyed, one-horned, flyin' purple people eater

I think this outfit was a couple weeks ago now-- it was a rainy day, so I wore a purple beret to cover up my straightened hair. But first, I picked out a purple pencil skirt to wear with this pinkish-purple cardigan, with black tights and pointy flats. I had been wanting to wear this sweater so I could match this colorful gold-toned peacock necklace with it. When I selected the pencil skirt, which has a silver back zipper, I added another, long, gold and silver necklace with a translucent gem and purple beads on it. I could not wear a gold-toned necklace with a silver zipper, so I matched both metals by adding the long multi-metal necklace. The gold-tone matches the long necklace and so does the zipper. :)  For other jewelry and accessories, I added a two-toned, translucent gem ring; a silver-toned, colorful beaded cuff; and silver, colorful beaded hoop earrings along with a geometric, re-shapeable, iridescent purple handbag. For makeup, I wore plum and maroon shadows, and a fuchsia lip color.

Long necklace: Charming Charlie's, clearance, approx. $8?

All business

Wearing flat shoes the past couple of weeks, here I was in grey oxfords and a grey vest with a black pencil skirt, tights and top. For accessories, however, I kind of went overkill with black and gold tassel earrings, a gold, black, white and grey color-block statement necklace, a gold double-V necklace, gold stackable rings, a beaded, rhinestone head wrap and a black and white color-block handbag. For makeup: gold and black shadows and a bright lipstick.

For accessories, I wore a black and gold graph-lined bow necklace, a black and white color-block handbag, gold rings and black and gold tassel earrings. Sneaks

I sprained my ankle a couple weeks ago, so I've been in sneakers and flats since. This is actually vaccination day, which was cold and rainy. I wore these mint green old school Adidas sneakers, which I love, with high-waist skinny jeans and a mint green and grey striped racer-back tank. Then, I couldn't decide between which grey long-sleeved cardigan I wanted to wear, so I wore both! At first, I rolled my hair up into a head wrap and remembered that I could wear my grey Kangol. For (other) accessories, I wore mint stud earrings and a mint statement necklace. For makeup: mint and charcoal shadows with a charcoal liner and fucsia lipstick. For a handbag, I used a grey reversible Dickie's canvas.

WUnday

I wanted to wear this ruffly marigold sweatshirt today, but it's cold and rainy so couldn't wear matching flats. Instead, I wore my Wu-Tang socks with Docs and even used my special edition Wu lipstick and added marigold and black shadows.  From there, I decided to wear a (killer) bee ring with yellow and black rose studs and a marigold headband.

Docs: eBay, $60
Socks: Stance (my fav!), eBay, $15

What's black and white with "read" all over?

A newspaper.

A week ago, it wasn't snowing-- it was actually nice out like a normal spring day. I wore red tapered ankle pants with a fuchsia blazer, and a black and white striped blouse. To pull the black and white together, I used a black and white colorblock handbag. For shoes, I wore black pointy stilettos, adorned with shiny copper tips. I kept with the same color jewelry- dangly earrings and an arrow wrap ring.

For makeup: copper and black shadows and red lipstick (I was tossed up between fuchsia and red, but the red against the fuchsia blazer brought the colors together with the pants.

Grey matter

It's that time of year to pull out the things I didn't wear this past winter. This brown and charcoal color-block moto-zip blazer is so cute and can be worn for work or for play. Here, I wore it to work with a brown pencil skirt, charcoal tights and matching ankle boots. For hair: a high pony; for makeup: brown shadow, charcoal eyeliner and a fuschia lipstick. For jewelry, I wore mixed metal danglies.

Lazy

Last week, I wanted to wear these black and white plaid ponte pants. I really didn't know with what, but knew I hadn't worn this blush puff-shoulder blouse all season. So, I wore the pants and top with matching ruffle ankle boots, black and white chandelieeeeerrrr (Sia) and blush faux pearl earrings,  and a black and white color block handbag. I'll be honest- I partially picked the black and white because I didn't feel like changing purses the night before. For makeup, blush lipstick and black shadow.

How cute is this dress?

Probably too dressy for work these days since I don't see anyone, but I've been dying to wear this cute mock-neck black and white graph-pattern, puffy-sleeved, ruffly dress I ordered a few months ago. It was finally nice enough, so couldn't wait any longer. Since it's the school colors, I will probably pull this out for events. With it, I wore black tights and black ankle boots. (I can't wait to wear this with black and white strap sandals!) For accessories, I wore a black and white beaded headband, silver wavy hoops (think ruffles), and a black and white color-block handbag. For makeup: a bright lipstick and black shadow.

Colorful graph paper

The other day, I wore this black and multi-color graphed, puffy-sleeved, wrap-around split tunic. With the different colors, I can do a lot with this, but since I wore marigold the day prior, I opted to bring out the teal lines. I wore black ponte pants and black ankle boots with teal dangly statement earrings and a teal rose statement ring with teal eyeshadow. I wore burgundy lipstick to go with the burgundy lines in the tunic.

Crime Scene

For those who do not know, I'm really hooked on true crime. So, my bestie sent me these socks a couple years ago (along with some 'Crime Scene' tape). I didn't plan the outfit around the socks, but rather, wore the socks with the outfit because they matched. Here I am wearing a marigold puff-shoulder, wrap-around tunic with black ponte pants, and a matching handbag, beret and ankle boots. For jewelry, I wore bead strand chandelier earrings that have strands of marigold. For makeup: marigold and black shadows and a dark plum lipstick to match the plum strands in the earrings.

Tunic and beret: NY&Co., sale, $27; $10

Jade is for luck (St. Patty's)

I was out with my Aunts and planned for green..you know, with St. Patty's this week still.

I wore this jade green 3/4 ruffle and lace sleeve top with high waist jeans, grey knee-high boots and a grey Kangol. For jewelry, I added a long silver necklace with a blue and green daisy and a shorter necklace with light blue and green flowers and, then, jade and blue front-back earrings and silver and blue daisy studs along with a blue beaded silver knuckle ring. For a handbag, this hand-made recycled t-shirt bag- blue and green and I added a green bandana.

Shamrock shake

Still wearing green for St. Patty's Day soon. I don't have a ton of green but more than enough for the days I am working in the office. Yesterday, I wore this (faux) satin mint blouse with high waist tuxedo ankle pants and black ankle boots. I decided on this mint statement necklace and mint, gold and cream dream catcher/mandala earrings. Because they have hints of cream, I added cream and gold bangles and, finally, a cream floral lacy, ruffly vest. I wasn't sure about the vest with this outfit- what do you think?

For makeup: sea green and black shadows and a bright pink lipstick.

Blouse: Charming Charlie's, $18
Vest: Charmed and Dangerous boutique, $24ish
Pants and boots: NY&Co., Sale, $24

Happy, go lucky

Still wearing St. Patrick's Day colors. I'm evidently pretty tired today, but alas, I'm still in green. Here I am with a sheer, forest green blouse, which I wore with black ponte pants and black chunky-heel ankle boots. I wore a matching gold and beaded green, black and cream necklace with gold stick earrings. For makeup: forest eye shadow and a bright lipstick. The ankle boots have good zippers to go with my necklace, and earrings and I used a black handbag with gold hardware to match. One of my personal pet peeves is mis-matched hardware.

Start of St. Patty's Day Colors

It's that time to start wearing green (even though I don't consider olive green a St. Patrick's Day color). I wore this olive, long- sleeved poncho with a floral mini-skirt and black knee-high boots. It just so happens that this orange fur jacket matched as well. I kept my jewelry low-key today and only wore silver and olive dangly earrings. For makeup: olive shadow and a burnt orange lipstick.

Update: Which headband and earrings?

I loosely polled people yesterday on which grahams and earrings to wear with my Tu-Pac merman button down. Really, I'd been wanting to wear the blue and pearl headband but, as you can see below, I opted for the maroon one. I thought the pearl adornments were too much with all of my accessories.

For earrings, everyone voted on these multi-color purple and amber beaded hoops.

Modern-day casual Victorian

I'd been wanting to wear this lacy, ruffly antique rose mock neck casually for a while. I had a day off and was out and about most of the day, so put it on with jeans (yes, skinny jeans!! Darn millennials and Gen Zs!) and antique rose ruffly ankle boots. For accessories: an antique rose handbag, flower ring and paisely tassel earrings along with black rose studs. For makeup: antique rose and black shadows and a muted pink lipstick. You will also see here a matching ruffly shawl that I brought with me but didn't end up wearing over my puffer coat.
