Mix and Match Smorgasbord

Today was supposed to be a warmish day again, so I picked out a light blouse and planned around it. With it, I wore a pencil skirt and boots (shocking) . The best part was really the accessories- I wore this cute steam-punk bib necklace and then matched other pearl and rhinestone accessories with it. I took different pearl and gold bangles and a god and rhinestone bangle from different sets as well as a couple of pearl bracelets from another set. I did the same for my rings and took from two different sets- I wore a couple of pearl, gold and rhinestone rings from one set and some bronze rings from another. For earrings, I wore a pair of pearls and a pearl of oversized rhinestones. Fun!

For makeup, I wore black shadow and a muted lip gloss.

Better late than never

This top and scarf was a Christmas gift I received together. I wore them just after the Holidays, but am just now getting to posting. This (very cozy) top is cute with its decorative back and can be worn both dressy or casual (shown below). To work, I wore it with a pencil skirt and boots. For a weekend lunch, I wore it with peach skinny jeans and boots. I wore different accessories each time: at work, and the first time I wore it, I wore silver and olive handmade earrings and some silver Alex and Ani bracelets with a celery green Lenny & Eva leather band. For my casual outfit, I wore a fuchsia and gold watch and a gold octopus ring with fuchsia stones. (Note that I wore all silver jewelry one time and gold the next.) For both outfits, I wore olive green shadow and fuchsia lip crayon.

Moving on from Valentine's Day

I think I've finally retired the Vday colors, except on this day, I was still easing away. It was an unusually warm day in February, so I took advantage by wearing this adorable pink (faux) leather jacket. First, I looked for something that wasn't too warm to wear, so I chose this 3/4 multi-color chevron blouse. I've yet to wear wear it with this new navy skirt, so that's just what I did...with navy tights and new navy t-strap flats. I swapped into beige and gold tone heels since the new shoes hurt-- yes the heels were more comfortable than the flats! Now, there is a lot I can do with this top because of the colors, but it's best not to over-do it and wear every color, so this time, I focused on the gold buttons going down the back and the blush chevron stripes...and obviously the navy. So, for jewelry, I only wore gold stick earrings (as opposed to coral or mint accessories) and a navy and gold watch. The gold tones throughout the outfit also match the zipper down the back of the skirt.

For makeup, I wore navy and blush eye shadows and blush lip crayon.

IT'S ONE WEEK AFTER VALENTINE'S DAY...and I'm STILL wearing pink!

I'm almost done wearing Valentine's clothes. This multi-color pink and fuchsia striped sweater generally only comes out once a year and it's for Valentine's Day season. The beige stripes match almost perfectly with this pleated skirt. But, since the sweater is so preppy, I usually try to jazz it up a little. Today, I added an antique-gold bib necklace and stick earrings. I also wore this adorable pink panda ring and a fuchsia watch, both with gold tones. For shoes, I wore brown boots (with antique-gold accents) and brown leggings. My brown (and gold-toned) handbag really brought the brown together in the outfit (not shown). I also wore a pink jacket outdoors along with a matching scarf that came with the sweater. For makeup, antique-gold and dark brown shadows with coral lip crayon.

IT'S ALMOST ONE WEEK AFTER VALENTINE'S DAY...and I'm still wearing pinks

We were running errands today, but I still couldn't drop the pink colors yet- not until I'm done wearing all of my V-day-related stuff. Today, it was peach (a shade of pink!) pants with a grey and white cardigan and a black tank. I wore black boots and a black scarf to even out the top and the bottom of the outfit. I wore white knee high socks to bring out the white in the cardigan and peach rose earrings with a peach rose bracelet, both with gold tones. Finally, I added a black rose bracelet. For makeup: peach and black shadows with a peach sheer lip gloss.

IT'S STILL VALENTINE'S WEEK

I'm still keeping with pinks and other Valentine's Day colors. I should have started wearing them earlier in the month. This time, I wore a peach blazer I purchased about two months ago. With it, I wore all black with peach accessories, including peach rose earrings and a necklace with peach flower on it. I wore bracelets that matched the other charms on the necklace, such as the heart wing bracelet that matched the wing charm and the bauble bracelet that matches the oversized crystal charm. For makeup, I wore peach and black eyeshadows and peach-toned lip gloss.

Blazer: Nordstrom Rack, $39.99 (much more than I would normally ever pay, but I fell in love with it)

IT (was) VALENTINE'S DAY!!!

I actually wore this outfit just before the Holidays and liked it so much, I wore it again for VALENTINE'S DAY(!!!) only with a different pair of earrings and, this time, I wore my hair down and straightened. I wore a camel turtleneck with matching boots and a black pencil skirt and tights. For the Holiday(s): a red shawl and red lipstick! (For the Christmas season, I also wore a red bow in my hair, see below.) In addition to red lipstick, I wore camel eyeshadow. Earrings worn on both occasions matched the buckles on my boots. When outdoors, I wore the shawl on the outside of my jacket- a look I really liked.

Boots: Charlotte Russe?, BOGO 50% off
Turtleneck: Rue 21, $5
