Grass is greener...

My Godmother (nicely) bought me this skirt (with a different outfit in mind). I hadn't worn it yet until yesterday when I couldn't think of a skirt- that wasn't black-- to wear with this gold-toned necklace and matching green shirt. (Note- it was SO hard to keep a white skirt clean all day!!) I wore green rose earrings that go really well with the necklace (not purchased together at all) and gold heels. My eye-shadows were gold and aqua blue and, lip gloss- gold. For my hair, I wore it up in three knotted buns for a quick updo to keep my outfit looking professional.

Oh, the possibilities

I purchased this shirt online after eyeballing it for a while. I'm a big fan of mint and coral together these days, not to mention sheer materials. The fun part is I can virtually wear this with something different every time I wear it because of the colors. Today, I wore the top with navy blue skinny pants, coral heels and coral bangles, earrings and ring. The gold in all of the jewelry matches the gold button accents going down the back of the top. For makeup, I wore white and navy shadows and coral lip crayon. Lastly, I pulled my curly 'fro back into one long twist and ended it with a low pony.

Bug Bites

I've been trying to wear every summer article of clothing at least once before I let the season slip away on me. On Father's Day, I wore a long skirt, which was planned by all of the bug bites on my legs. :)  Then, I wore this coral high-low, sheer top with a matching racerback tank underneath and matching sandals. Because the skirt has leave-like shapes, I wore my matching coral jewelry (bracelets and ring) and also a pair of gold, dangly leave earrings and a gold leave cuff. I wore bronze eyeshadow with teal eyeliner to go with the skirt and coral lip crayon.

Skirt: Dots, about 7 years ago
Tops: Rainbow Shops, approx. $4.99 for tank and $7.99 for high-low top
Sandals: Alloy, clearance, $5-7

Ring: Charming Charlie's, clearance $4.99

Fun with Colors

I really like this skirt-- it has: A) so many colors, so I can do a lot with it and: B) has flowers on it and, well, I like my rose accessories! Today, I wore it with this high-low sheer-back green and blue shirt. The shirt matches the skirt SO well. I wore black rose earrings and black rose wedges to go with the flower print on the skirt and, then, a three-toned green beaded necklace to go with the back of the shirt (and skirt) along with a matching hobo bag. Eyeshadows were teal green and navy blue and lip crayon was magenta (to also match the skirt). Fun, fun fun!

When things work out

This necklace was a birthday special that I added to my Amazon wish list. When it came time to match it up with current items in my closet, I pulled out my 3/4 kelly green tee, which I sometimes wear underneath this 3/4 sleeve lace shirt. It particularly works well because the flowers in the necklace go with the flowers on the lace. Then, I realized how perfect it was that I had green rose earrings-- they matched perfectly with the necklace! While not ideal, I wore all black with this outfit, but I did like the pocketed skirt and heels. Lastly, I wore green and blue eye shadows.

Necklace: Amazon, $6-8
Lace shirt: Bob's Stores, free with $10 coupon
Green 3/4 tee: Rue 21, $5
Earrings: eBay, 6-pk, $5
Skirt: Bob's Stores, approx. $5 with a coupon

Rainy Day Cuteness

I went shopping on a rainy day recently and had a chance to wear this cute parka. Because it's lined with pink inside, I was inspired to wear a coral underneath, which I might not think of otherwise. (While you can't tell in these photos, this (comfy) sweater is cute because it has buttons all the way down the sleeves.) Since I had on leggings, I wore a cami that covered my toosh and matched my knee high socks and head wrap with it. (Even amounts of white throughout.) Finally, I mixed in more coral by wearing a set of coral accented bangles and gold and coral stick earrings. For makeup, I wore olive green eyeshadow and coral lip crayon.

Bracelets: Birthday gift

McDonald's Colors?

When I brought home this mustard yellow shirt (as previously seen in 'Inspired'), I had one accessory in mind (a set of earrings). But, one of the things I like most about coordinating is when you find other things in your closet that will match, too! And, I like the way this turned out. I matched the shirt with a favorite, floral & lace scarf. And, then, also to go with the scarf, matching maroon heels. I think this is the only way one can pull off yellow and red in the same outfit. I wore black rose earrings to go with the flowers and black in the scarf and then mustard yellow and black eye shadows with maroon lip gloss.

Shoes: Charlotte Russe, $15?
Earrings: eBay, (6-ok of different colors), $5
