Chocolate frosting

Here, I wore a colorblock moto blazer, charcoal with brown faux leather sleeves, with brown pants and charcoal ankle boots. For jewelry, I wore a brushed silver ring and earrings, also adorned with brown charms, to go with the brushed silver zipper. Also added was a brown scarf. For makeup: brown shadow and liner with a bright lipstick.

I typically wear this camel and black plaid midi-pencil skirt in the warmer weather. But, here, I repurposed it for winter with a black cowl neck sweater and over-the-knee boots. For accessories, I wore black and gold tassle earrings, gold stackable rings, and used a black and gold handbag. For makeup: camel and black shadows and a bright lipstick.

Cheerleader

We were going to a school hockey game, so I wore a team-branded sweater that looks like it could have come from a 50s sock-hop. In fact, it was so un-like me to wear something so preppy that I received many comments/compliments at work. With the sweater, I wore black ponte pants and black wedge ankle boots. For accessories, I wore a black and white houndstooth scarf and black and white chandelier earrings to show my school colors. For makeup: charcoal shadow and a bright lipstick.

Crime Scene

Marigold is one of my favorite colors to wear these days, probably because it's fun to match. Here, I wore a long, marigold wrap-around tunic with a matching beret, handbag and ankle boots and black ponte pants. For jewelry I wore multi-color beaded chandelier earrings (marigold strands). For makeup: marigold and black shadows with a plum lipgloss (to match the plum strands). And, of course- crime scene socks.

"Your what? Tiiiiin roof, rusted...."

I recently started collecting the color rust/burnt orange/indian summer/amber spice- whatever you like to call it. Here, I wore a poncho I purchased around Black Friday, but with a necklace that was recently handed down to me that happened to match! Since the necklace has aqua blue tones, as well, I wore all other accessories in aqua: earrings, ring, bracelet and belt. For the rest of the outfit- black pants, long-sleeved tee, ankle boots. For makeup: rust and aqua shadows and a a deep bronze lipstick.

Penguin / "I said if you're thinkin' about my brother, it don't matter if you're black or white"

This day, I was headed to Boston for a recruitment fair, so wanted to look nice while wearing school colors. Yes, that's right- black and white again. Here, I wore a white A-line blazer that has a black collar and is lower in the back. With it, I wore satin-trimmed, high-waist ankle pant, a dressy black sleeveless top, and black ankle boots. Really, the blazer and pants could be a modernized, feminine tuxedo. Since the blazer has silver buttons, I wore a silver-toned multi-tiered chain and pearl accented jewelry set, which also adds a little formality, but edge. I used a black and white colorblock handbag (not shown). For makeup: black shadow and a bright lipstick.

Blazer: Venus, a few years ago, approx. $35

Crunchy

The inspiration around this outfit was primarily the earring/necklace set coupled with not having worn this sheer green top in a while. The antique gold jewelry set has an earthy print with green and blue and hints of orange, so I wore all navy with the green: ponte pants, a tank and ankle boots. For makeup: shimmery dark green shadow and navy liner with a bright lipstick.

Top: birthday gift, Amazon, approx. $14
Pants: Sears, $20
Shoes: Kohl's, a few years ago, sale and coupon, $24
Jewelry set: holiday gift years ago

Plain Jane/All Business/Pocket Full of Sunshine

On this day, I was conducting a new student orientation, so had to look presentable. Here, I wore high, satin-waisted ankle pants with a ruffled blazer and black ankle boots. I'm sick of wearing black and white, so I thought this was a little better, though I did feel like a plain Jane. For accessories, I wore a color block, Aztec-patterned necklace- black white, grey and gold, and black and gold tassle earrings. For makeup: gold and black shadows and a bright lipstick.

I normally hate wearing pants because they never fit well, but I've been liking them lately and I do like having pockets.

Pancho Villa Goes into the Office

You may remember the post: Clint Eastwood/Pancho Villa. Well, I wore the same poncho to work and you can see, below, in a less flattering photo. Also- the difference between going to work and being on vacation. Anyway, for work, I added a pencil skirt, grey tights and gree knee-high chunky-heel boots. For jewelry this time, I wore dangly hoop earrings, a multi-strand metal and leather necklace, and a silver ring. Makeup was probably the same in both photos- grey/black shadow and a bright lipstick.

Here, I definitely say that I prefer the 'play' look over 'work' (not to mention the straight hair).

Poncho: Rue 21, years ago. $15
Boots: Kohl's, Black Friday sale, $16.99
Ring: found on the ground!

Togetherness

I guess I've been in the mood to wear beige- I think it was the new boots I hadn't worn yet as well as the new top I got for Christmas and (another) top I was given. So, I decided to pull the three outfits together, below, since they are all very similar. One shirt worn twice- both inside and outside of work, all jewelry and makeup is the same with all three outfits. The only difference is which bottoms and shoes I wore. You could actually just interchange my hairdo and sweater with the two work outfits.

Fringe sweater: Christmas gift from brother, he has good taste
Cowl neck sweater: hand-me-down from Aunt (along with another one in grey)
Ponte pants: Amazon, $14
Pencil skirt: have had, Kohl's
Beige boots: The Shoe Store, clearance, $11 (purchased in three colors)
Black boots: Rue 21, a few years ago, sale, $15
Earrings: given to me from Aunt
Necklace and square bangles: warehouse sale, $5/$2
Makeup: Ulta; The Body Shop

Fringe: Casual- Shopping day with Aunts: Ponte pants and black heel boots

Work: Cowl neck with pencil skirt and matching chunky heel beige boots
