October is (also) Breast Cancer Awareness Month!

Last week, some colleagues and I dressed up in pink for breast cancer awareness. Unfortunately, we didn't get ourselves together soon enough for a bigger event with donations, etc., but the thought was still there. Here, I wore a blush pencil skirt, cardigan and sheer blouse with blush ruffle booties. I added fuscia into the mix with a floral scarf and fuscia earrings and panda costume ring. I wore black tights and a black tank under my top, which goes with the scarf, as well. For makeup: light pink and black shadows with fuscia lipstick.

More Beetlejuice- two days until Halloween!

Here we have another black and white striped blouse, but this one has lace bell sleeves and the stripes are vertical much more like Beetljuice's suit. I wore the top to work with black ankle dress pants and black block heel pumps, but later, with frayed ankle jeans, black ankle boots and a black floppy hat. For jewelry: two sets of black rose earrings, a black rose bracelet and a crocheted lace statement necklace (which look like part of the shirt). For makeup: black shadow and a bright lipstick.

It's been getting close to Halloween, so I've been wearing black and white stripes to go with my Tim Burton handbag-- the stripes go with Beetlejuice. Here, I wore a short sleeved, black and white striped, lace-bibbed top with a black pencil skirt and ankle boots. For jewelry, black rose earrings and bracelet to go with the lace. For makeup, black shadow and a bright lipstick.

Aqualicious

This was the final wearing of this teal, ruffle blouse for me. It's adorable with it's puffy, buttoned sleeves and ruffles all the way down the front, BUT....it doesn't fit and it too tight in the arms. Who wants it? Size Medium. I would like for it to go to a good home!

Here, I wore it with black high-waist pleated and tapered dress pants and black perforated ankle boots. For jewelry, I wore an oversized teal rose ring and a multi-strand necklace with teal adornments. I wore multi-strand chandelier earrings that matched the necklace pretty well. For makeup: teal shadow and a bright lipstick so I didn't get drowned out by color.

Shoes: Rue 21?, Hot Kiss, >$20

Pocket Full of Sunshine

I purchased this dress for $14 last year on Amazon and it has pockets! I love dresses and skirts with pockets, plus this one is so comfortable. Here, I wore it with a fuscia, brown, black and beige geometric patterned scarf and fuscia triangle earrings with beige and black color-block heels. For makeup, I wore fuscia lipstick and beige shadow.

Another long shirt!

We were going to a local play, so I wanted to look somewhat nice, but not too dressy. I wore this long-sleeve peach high-low top with charcoal ponte pants and charcoal ankle boots. I also added a plaid and lace charcoal scarf (and tank) to pull it all together. For jewelry, I wore peach and pink sparkly danglies I got for a gift earlier this year. For makeup: peach and charcoal shadows with peach lip-gloss.

Ponte pants: Kohl's, clearance, Vera Wang, $11?

It only takes one article to do all the talking

I always like this ankle-length, crocheted vest and, in fact, I do tend to wear a lot of longer tops. With it, this time, I wore ponte pants and ankle boots and a black 3/4 tee. To keep the vest closed, I wore a thin, black belt, but wore silver hoops a silver cuff to match the buckle. Simple outfit, but the vest does all the work.    I wore black shadow with a bright lipstick for some color...

Vest: K-Mart, 50% sale, a few years ago, $18?
Pants: Wright's Chicken Farm gift shop(!!!), $19
Ankle boots: NY& Co., sale, a couple years ago, $24
Hoops and bracelet: given to me from Aunt

Free Fallin'

On this day last week, I wore some true fall colors. It's been getting a little bit cooler, so some of my shawls and parkas have been making an appearance. Here, I wore a long-sleeve, olive green parka with a brown pencil skirt, brown tights and ankle boots. For accessories, I wore a fall-color beaded necklace (olive, cream, orange, brown) with another, orange, beaded medallion necklace with brown wooden hoops and an olive green lace ring. The wooden earrings just happen to go with the wooden-platform shoes. For makeup: brown, orange and olive shadows and a brown liner with an orange-red lipstick. Lastly- a brown, olive and orange floral handbag. Most of the accessories, including the shoes, I've had for a really long time.

Flap-Jack

I don't wear this top too often. It may be a result of getting stuck on every single drawer handle in the kitchen or that people might mistake it for a Halloween costume since I look like a curtain or a flapper. Think: lower headband with a feather. Anyway, here I wore this camel, lace and fringe top with a black pencil skirt and camel ankle boots. (This top looked much cuter with a pair of camel/black colorblock heels I used to have.) For jewelry, I wore camel antique gold danglies (from the 80s or 90s, actually) and black rose studs to go with the lace print. For hair, I put a head wrap over the length of my hair and wrapped it up underneath to create a 50s affect. For makeup: camel and black shadows and camel lipgloss.

Top: LTD. Commodities, clearance, $9?
Boots: Amazon, Unionbay, $20-25
Earrings: Vintage: hand-me-down from Aunt; Roses: eBay

MA-ca-ROON

It's been time to wear fall blouses and I love the high-low flowy ones! I'm also loving maroon this season. Here, I wore a high-low maroon blouse with grey/black/maroon plaid pants and maroon heels. For jewelry, I wore gunmetal spike earrings to go with a wavy gunmetal artsy ring and a long necklace with gunmetal ball details and oversized maroon beads. If you look closely, the shapes on the necklace do have an animal print, but I THINK it still worked with the plaid pants. Wht do YOU think ?

For makeup: maroon lipgloss and maroon shadow.

Top and pants: NY&Co., 50% off sale, approx. $35, approx. $24
Shoes: Charlotte Russe, years ago, BOGO free
Necklace: hand-me-down from mother
Earrings: Burlington Coat Factory, 3/prs, $4.99
