It's fall... blah, blah, blah

I may still be in a little bit of denial that (it's fall).  Nonetheless, I decided to wear some fall colors today. I wore this olive green top with a multi-color beaded necklace, silver and olive green flower earrings, and a multi-color floral handbag. I also wore an olive green/silver bracelet and a brown, wooden bracelet, not to mention this perfectly matching parka (it was raining). The handbag and necklace have the colors of olive, orange and brown and the flower earrings go with both the back of the shirt and the handbag. Instead of brown bottoms, I chose my typical black pencil skirt with black ankle boots. This dresses up a more casual shirt and I also didn't really want to look like a colorful tree. However, I would normally never wear black with the brown straps on this handbag. Makeup: olive and black eye shadows.

Earrings: Christmas gift from boss
Bracelets: wooden: have had for about 12 years; green: Christmas gift from friend

Three for Thursday!

Thursday
It was going to be a partially sunny day and not too warm, not too cool. What a good day for a sheer button down! With it, I wore a ribbon around the collar and pleated, tapered dress pants and patent leather heels and black dot earrings. Makeup: ice blue and black shadows .

Top: Forever 21, $11
Pants: Guess, clearance, $20
Heels: have had
Earrings: given to be from Mom
Ribbon: craft store, $1-2

Wednesday

I had a couple of presentations to do, so I wanted to be sure I was in school colors, but also wanted to break out these pink heels. I wore a matching top and put on a black and white necklace to match the skirt. For driving to and from work and for walking across campus, I wore matching blush flats. For earrings: black dots studs. Makeup: Blush

Tuesday
It was (another) rainy day, so I knew I would want to wear a skirt/dress. (I don't like wearing pants in the rain since they drag in the water.) Since I hadn't worn this dress yet, I decided it was time! I ordered this dress for $8 on Amazon and it has pockets! I didn't want to wear all black on a rainy day, so mixed it up a little with this crystal and purple beaded necklace I don't get to wear that much. From there, I decided to wear cream-colored heels with gold accents (to go with the gold in the necklace), gold stick earrings and gold, cream and crystal bracelets. Since it was chilly, I threw on my cream blazer. I added a gold belt at the last minute since the dress made me seem wider. For makeup: gold and purple shadows and gold lip gloss.

Dress: Amazon, $8 with coupon code
Blazer: Rainbow Shops, came with a skirt I no longer have
Belt: K-Mart, $3?, going out of business sale

Case of the Mondays

I had a case of the Mondays before Monday even came, so I picked out something both colorful and warm enough for a cooler, dreary day. I've been eager to wear this floral top, too, since I got the deal of the century on it and since it's SO fun to match with.  I wore burgundy ponte pants and matching heels with the top, and a peach, ruffly blazer. But wait- there's more! I recently purchased these flats (also a big score) that are peach AND ruffly! To complete coordinating this outfit, I wore burgundy lip gloss and peach, cream and burgundy eye shadows with green eyeliner. For jewelery- peach rose earrings and a peach rose bracelet.

I could coordinate with this blouse all day long!

Not really ready for hockey

I may be wearing Bruins colors, but that's not intentional- I just like this marigold top. I toyed with wearing other colors with it, but really just felt like keeping it classy with black. Besides, I like these earrings with it.

Inspired by...an earring!

Last night, I was looking for what to wear when I decided I hadn't worn this lilac lace and ruffle blouse in a while. I was going to pick out my usual black pencil skirt and, then, went to pick out my earrings when I saw these (see below). SO, I decided that I would try to pull off a burgundy faux suede skirt with the top, instead! Unfortunately, I really needed to wear a black tee underneath, so I had to mix in black with the rest of my outfit. Instead of my matching burgundy heels, I went with black and a black belt (not karate!!) to bring it all together.

Besides matching eye shadow and lip gloss, I put my hair up into three knots tied in with a lilac ribbon.

Top: NY&Co., Sale, $15-20
Skirt: Rue 21, clearance, $7
Earrings: given to me from Aunt, from the 80s!!
Makeup: lilac and black shadows: Ulta; burgundy lip gloss: Avon
Belt: see Superhero?
Shoes: see Superhero?
Hair ribbon: taken from gift wrap

Super hero?

Years ago, I was wearing a long duster with a fur collar, wedge boots and pleather pants (an outfit I wore often). A co-worker told me I looked like a superhero and drew me as a cartoon character. Well, every time I wear a long article of clothing, this is how I feel, as if, when I'm walking, my long sweater is trailing in the sky behind me. Except, today, my long sweater vest is my cape and I paired it with black dress pants and heels as well as a thin belt. The belt hardware is silver, so I wore earrings in the same tone. For makeup: black shadow and a neutral lipstick.

Sweater vest: K-Mart (a few years ago), 50% off, $15?
Black 3/4 sleeve top (Gap): Frugal Fannie's, $8
Dress pants; NY&Co., 50% off sale, $24
Shoes: Charlotte Russe, sale, $9?
Belt: K-Mart (a few years ago), 70% off, $7? , came in a belt set
Earrings: given to me from Aunt
Makeup: Ulta

Guest appearance!!!

Here is a friend of mine who cares as much about clothes and coordinating as I do! Tough photo because of the lighting, but Katie wore a pale pink high-low top (sheer in the back) with  seafoam green pants, a necklace to tie it all together- pink and greens, and light pink flats. She also had a pink handbag (not shown). Thanks for posing, Katie!
