Hiatus; teal

Teal is one of my favorite colors. Here are some outfits from summer and fall- all work outfits. All the same pose. hahaha!

For make-up, I use a teal shade from Tarte and then whichever matching lipstick (i.e. fuchsia with fuchsia clothes; blush with blush clothes, etc.) Sometimes, I'll just use a matching shadow and a teal liner instead.

Hiatus; marigold

I've collected a lot of marigold accessories and clothing over the past 5-7 years and love wearing it with all different colors! Except...it's probably not the best color for me like if Kathy Griffin wore red. Anyway, here it is with black and white, cobalt, plaid multi-colors, purple and grass green. Always one thing in common- marigold eyeshadow.

Hiatus; rust

In the spirit of Thanksgiving, I'll focus on fall colors today- here is rust and browns.

The shawl your see below, I'm most excited about since it's super cute with a native American flair, but was $5.

Boots you see below were $11 (purchased years ago)

Hiatus; ways to wear burgundy

Well, I haven't posted since the beginning of fall, I think, and here we are closer to the Holidays. So, in order to catch up, I'm posting numerous outfits at one time in a color scheme. Here are lots of outfits in burgundy/maroon. Some end of summer, some fall, mostly for work, some for casual and rain.

You can wear burgundy almost like black:
Burgundy and navy
Burgundy and blush
Burgundy and peach
Burgundy and marigold
Burgundy and brown
Burgundy and olive

Runway

Later in the summer, I wore this asymmetrical, ruffle-cap-sleeve top with teal and black plaid ponte pants, and black pointy heels. Someone told me I looked like I belonged on the runway (it wasn't meant to be a compliment, but I transformed into one). To match the tips and bottoms of my shoes, I wore a rose gold ring and dangly earrings. For makeup: teal and black shadows and red lipstick.

Top: NY&Co., sale, a couple years ago, approx. $23
Pants: Nordstrom Rack or TJ Maxx?, $20?
Shoes: Amazon, $20
Earrings and ring: jewelry warehouse sale, $2/$1
Makeup: Tarte (gift), The Body Shop

My aunts feed into my addiction

This teal and cream print skirt and seashell/aquatic necklace generally only make it out once a year and only during the summer. With them this time, I wore a teal cardigan and aqua tee with beige heel sandals, a beige belt, a beige handbag and matching knot headband. And, in case the noisy necklace wasn't enough, I added another teal and aqua beaded necklace. For makeup: cream and teal shadows with a teal liner.

Llamageddon

On this day, I was running errands, but had been wanting to wear colors to match this llama cross body. SO, here I am with a sheer, peach spaghetti strap tank with a grass-green tank underneath, a grass-green bangle and peach rose bracelet. For earrings: green rose and peach rose studs.

I likely wore minimalistic makeup, but would have worn peach shadow and green liner with a peach lip gloss.

Peach bracelet: Burlington Coat Factory, $1.99
Earrings: peach: Rue 21, set of 6 pairs; green: e-Bay: set of 6 assorted colors.

Blue moon

I ordered this blue plaid, ruffly high-low dress this summer and I think it's so darn cute. I wore it once with nude chunky heel sandals and a shark canvas bag; and, another time, with camel western-adorned sandals and a blue, round rope handbag. With the nude heels, I wore silver and beige tassel earrings and with the camel western flats, I wore silver western dangly earrings. Both times- bright lipstick and barely there makeup.

Heels: Amazon, $15-20
Sandals: given to me from mom
Earrings: both given me from Aunt

Pink Cadillac

If I remember correctly, we were going to a car show this night, so I wore something where I could quickly change into shorts: a long, sheer, antique rose vest over a mock-neck cut-out mauve sleeveless top. For work, I wore this with a black pencil skirt and added a gold belt, sandals, and handbag. For makeup: blush lipstick and blush and black shadows. For jewelry: pink and gold acrylic hoops and a blush bangle.

After work, I swapped out the skirt for denim shorts and took off the belt.

Revival

My mom wore this brown floral button skirt in 1994 and somehow kept it all these years. So, she recently handed it down to me and I revived it with a mauve, lacy, mock-neck bib top and brown platform sandals. For make-up, I wore a mauve lipstick with brown and mauve shadows. For jewelry: brown wooden hoops (not shown) and a gold and wooden statement necklace.

I'm kinda obsessed

A lot of people don't realize that, among the many things I collect (Marilyn, goats, clothes, music, etc.) is also Adidas. I've had this navy blue mini backpack pocketbook since High School, which is pretty much when my love for Adidas started. Here I am with the backpack and a tie-dyed Adidas dress I HAD to have, and matching mint green Adidas head wrap and slide sandals.

Dress: approx. $28, sale
Slides: $18, sale
Head wrap: $4, sale
Backpack:circa 1997-98, $20ish

Flower power

This outfit is from about a month ago, if not more. It must have been a rainy day (as if it's done anything else this summer!). I think my plan was to wear the black and white beaded necklace/bracelet set, so I wore black and white plaid skinny pants and added a marigold sheer top, headband and flats and a black blazer. I also wore another, long, black and white beaded necklace, black and white chandelier earrings, an old daisy brooch and a black and white colorblock handbag. (A little over-accessorized.)  For makeup: marigold and black shadows and a bright lipstick.

Necklace/bracelet set: birthday gift from
   Aunt

Shark week

During Shark Week, I pulled out my shark bite canvas handbag. Here, I wore a light blue sleeveless, lace bib top, with black ankle pants and pointy flats. For makeup, I wore light blue shadow and a bright lipstick. I added a crystal necklace and earring jewelry set and braided my hair so I kind of looked like I was sporting a Frozen look.

Dirty Martini with extra OLIVEs

I ordered these highwaist paperbag pants last year probably early on in COVID. Finally pulled them out last month- they were surprisingly more difficult to pair with something since the color is not quite beige nor olive. So, I wore them with all blush- a sleeveless blouse and cardigan and flats. At work: pink heels. For accessories, I wore an olive green 'froofy' ring and olive and silver earrings and a blush handbag. For makeup: olive and pink shadows and a blush lipstick.

Pants: H&M, $9?
Blouse and sweater: Nordstrom Rack, $12, $20
Flats: Family Dollar, years ago, $9 (wish I bought more of these!)

Oreo cookie

I must have had another work event this day- virtually, but still wore this black and white colorblock split bodysuit with high-waist black dress pants and black flats. For accessories, I used a black and white colorblock handbag, black and gold tassel earrings and a gold triangle necklace and gold stackable rings. I always try to match my jewelry with the hardware on my handbags. For makeupL black and gold shadows and red lipstick. This is probably too dressy for a virtual session, but I think we all want to get back to some regular clothes again. I definitely missed some pics, so you'll look closely at the pics below! ;)

Bodysuit and pants: NY&Co. sale, approx. $25 each

Buh, buh, buh bird bird bird...

I love multi-color articles of clothing and florals mainly because I can do so much with them. One day last month, I wore this multi-color bird shawl with a teal sweater and fuchsia satin skirt, a matching handbag, and blue pointy flats. For jewelry, fuchsia dangly earrings and, for makeup: navy shadow, teal eyeliner and a fuchsia lip crayon.

Night and day

I wore this tie-dye kimono back in May on a weekend and to work last week, so I figured I'd combine the two into one post. I'm liking it much more with a casual outfit- the work one 'works', but it's so soft with all he pink. For work, I wore the kimono with a blush skirt and blouse with a light blue tank underneath. For casual, I wore jeans and two tanks- pink and blue. In each case, I wore (some) different jewelry and makeup: casual: coral and blue shadows with blue eyeliner; work: blush and blue shadows with blue eyeliner. Jewelry: casual: gold hoops and one, long peach beaded necklace and a peach rose bracelet, peach rose  studs, a gold blue and white beaded fringe necklace; work: pink acrylic earrings, blue pearl studs, the same blue and white necklace, and a headband. For both days, I used this periwinkle blue woven handbag- it has a tassel, which happens to match the tassels the kimono; I also wore the same blush flats with both outfits.

...a newspaper

I normally dislike red, black and white together, but I wanted to match this black and white color-block handbag lined with red.  *insert eyeroll here if you want*   So here, I wore a red sleeveless blouse with black and white plaid skinny pants and a black blazer with black pointy flats. For jewelry, I got to try out this black and white necklace/bracelet set I got for my birthday; I added another, long, black and white beaded necklace and silver long earrings. For makeup: red lipstick (way too much) black shadow.

Pants: hand-me-down from Godmother

Circus clown

I haven't posted in a few weeks, so I do have a bunch of outfits to get caught up on. Two things have changed since I posted last: no more masks (I'm vacc'd!!!) and the warmer weather finally!

This was a cooler day in May, so I wore this ruffle-shoulder marigold sweatshirt with matching flats. But, then, I added an aqua blue, multi-color scarf (which I also have in marigold) and added a pink tank and pink handbag. For jewelry: artsy dangly earrings made out of magazine and a silver aqua-stone statement ring. For makeup: marigold and aqua shadows and a blush lipstick.

Ketchup & Mustard v.2

Second day in a row it was raining so, again, I stuck with maroon rain boots and mustard. Here, I wore a maroon waterfall cardigan over a mustard, long, ruffly blouse with the same scarf and earrings as the day before- floral and lace with mustard tassel, and jeans. Makeup: mustard and maroon shadows and maroon lip gloss.

Cardigan: hand-me-down from Godmother
Mustard top: hand-me-down from Aunt
Scarf, earrings and makeup: see the previous post

Ketchup & Mustard or Stevie Ray Vaughn

We were on a staycation at this time, but it was a rainy week, so started with my maroon rain boots. From there, I wore a maroon long sleeve tee under a mustard waterfall cardigan and black ponte pants. My inspiration for always wearing maroon and mustard together is this floral and lace scarf. For other accessories, I added this maroon floppy hat, adorned with a fluffy ball-- just call me Stevie Ray-- and a mustard handbag and tassel earrings. For makeup: maroon and black shadows and maroon lipgloss.

Long sleeve tee and hat: Kohl's, $6/clearance: $9
Pants and earrings: Amazon, $14/set of  3prs: $6

One-eyed, one-horned, flyin' purple people eater

I think this outfit was a couple weeks ago now-- it was a rainy day, so I wore a purple beret to cover up my straightened hair. But first, I picked out a purple pencil skirt to wear with this pinkish-purple cardigan, with black tights and pointy flats. I had been wanting to wear this sweater so I could match this colorful gold-toned peacock necklace with it. When I selected the pencil skirt, which has a silver back zipper, I added another, long, gold and silver necklace with a translucent gem and purple beads on it. I could not wear a gold-toned necklace with a silver zipper, so I matched both metals by adding the long multi-metal necklace. The gold-tone matches the long necklace and so does the zipper. :)  For other jewelry and accessories, I added a two-toned, translucent gem ring; a silver-toned, colorful beaded cuff; and silver, colorful beaded hoop earrings along with a geometric, re-shapeable, iridescent purple handbag. For makeup, I wore plum and maroon shadows, and a fuchsia lip color.

Long necklace: Charming Charlie's, clearance, approx. $8?
Bracelet: gift one year
