Color Challenge

I purchased this belt a few weeks back and have been having a hard time finding something to go with it. I finally put it together with this floral scarf and it seems to work. To go with the lace and flowers in the scarf, I wore black rose earrings and a cream colored rose clip (added to the belt). I wore a flower-detailed silver cuff bracelet to bring both the scarf and the belt (silver spike) together. Lastly, I wore cream and black eye shadows and maroon lip gloss.

Belt: Charming Charlie's, clearance, $7
Scarf: clearance, Ltd. Commodities, approx. $5
Rose clip purchased for my wedding day, worn in my hair
Earrings: have had. eBay

Aqualung

Another fun outfit to put together. A girlfriend at work just donated to the Heather Collection, assorted scarves and gloves. I planned my outfit around this aqua blue and grey scarf by wearing a matching long sleeve tee, grey tights, matching earrings, and then dark grey eyeshadow and aqua blue eyeliner. I also wore this slate-grey beaded bracelet again. I purposely wore my charcoal grey jacket today.

Scarf: given to me
Long sleeve tee: Champion activewear (!!!), Target, Christmas gift one year
Bracelet: given to me from someone at work; made by her sister in India
Earrings: Christmas gift from a friend one year
Makeup: Eyeshadow and eyeliner: Ulta (both free with min. purchase)
Grey winter jacket: given to me from Godmother

Pretty in Pink.

I've been wanting to wear this super soft pink dolman top and, also this plaid, lacy scarf. Then, I realized that they would look cute together. This outfit ended up being pretty fun to put together with my matching pink rose earrings (they go with the lace, too), slate-grey beaded bracelet, grey tights and this really cool interchangeable purse...that matches PERFECTLY! To complete the color scheme, I wore pink and dark grey eye shadows and pink lip gloss. I was upset with myself when I realized I forgot to wear my pink winter jacket and ended up wearing black instead.

Scarf: a gift from my mother
Pink top: Rue 21, $5
Bracelet: given to me from someone at work; made by her sister in India
Earrings: e-Bay, set of 6, approx. $4-5
Interchangeable Magnetic purse: Miche, Christmas gift from mother and stepfather
Makeup: Eye shadows: Ulta; Lip Gloss: Maybelleine

Team Spirit.

It's a game day again and that means Black & White! This time, I wore a waterfall cardigan with white underneath, a black and white scarf, matching chandelier earrings and black and white rose clips on my belt. I did something different with my hair as I had seen it in an article recently and tried out some matching white bobby pins. I wore some moto-boots with a belt that has matching buckles.

Waterfall cardigan: Ltd. Commodities, approx. $5
Scarf: have had
Earrings: have had, Vera Wang, Kohl's, clearance
Rose clips: Amazon (black: 3-in-one, white: clip)
Belt: Rue 21, set of 2, clearance approx. $5
Boots: Just Fab, last year, $20 (2/$40)

Prissy

This outfit makes me look prissy, but  it all matches so well together. I wore this midnight blue satin skirt with brown tights, boots, cardigan, and tee. The colors in this outfit were built around the necklace, including the brown twine. I wore antique-gold chandelier earrings to match the gold and shapes on the necklace. To finish up, I wore dark brown and dark blue eyes shadows with brown lip gloss.

Skirt: NY&Co., given to me by a friend
Necklace: Chico's, given to me from Aunt
Earrings: given to me from Aunt
Boots, cardigan, tee and tights: have had
Makeup: Shadows: Ulta, Lip Gloss: Avon

Which boots??

Here is another new shirt I got in the mail last week from my post Holy Deals, Batman! This high-low shirt, sparkling with copper-toned studs, and includes a back cutout, can be worn more casual with jeans, or dressed up with black skinny pants, as shown below. I also wore a blazer when I was a bit chilly, and knee socks, which broke up the black and brought the off-white together. I wore copper-toned spike earrings and wore deep gold and black eye-shadows to complete the color coordination.

As you can tell, I had a hard time deciding on which boots-- which ones do you think??

Shirt: Rue 21, clearance + add'l discount: $5 or less
Skinny pants: T.J. Maxx, $12.99
Black boots: Rue 21, approx. $14, sale + add'l discount
Red-Brown boots: a birthday gift a few years ago, Alloy
Earrings: Burlington Coat Factory, 3prs. approx $5
Eye-shadows: deep gold: Avon (have had); black: Ulta

Still dreaming...

Since it's MLK day tomorrow, I've been sporting my MLK tee, which was especially made for me by a friend years ago. It barely fits anymore, but I'll never get rid of it. (I wear it with a long sleeve tee-shirt underneath.) I paired my Luca & Stella #dream bracelet, which I wear often, with the shirt.

I will continue to dream....

Let the Jewelry do the Work

Today, I planned my outfit around my necklace since I just bought it last weekend. I ended up with an outfit I really liked. First, I knew I was going to wear this bracelet with the necklace because the gemstones match, but then was having a hard time finding earrings to go. So, I pulled out these purple chandelier earrings since they're the same sort of cut as the gemstone in the necklace and bracelet, only a different color (even though there are purple beads on the necklace, too). Since the other necklace-- purple-- goes so well with the earrings, I thought it would bring all of the jewelry together. I then added a few gold bangles to mix with my silver bracelet since the (long) necklace is strands of silver and gold.

For the clothing, I knew I wanted to wear this flyaway cardigan with this necklace because I thought they would fit nicely together. And, then, since most of my jewelry was gold, I opted for these new boots with antique-gold accents and buckles. It was then decided I would wear camel! So, then I added a matching camel belt (also an antique-gold buckle) and thought, instead of my typical black pencil skirt and tights, I would try out the camel skirt. My hesitance was with tights, however-- since I didn't have camel, I tried out grey. I was worried this would make the outfit too 'matchy', but it ended up working out okay since not too much of the tights were showing. Again, a white long sleeve shirt under the cardigan to break up the color coordination a bit. I finished off with gold and purple eye shadows and gold lip gloss.

Copy cat

While doing online shopping just after Christmas, I saw a blanket scarf I liked, worn as shown below (with a belt and on one side). Unfortunately, the scarf sold out really fast, but it didn't stop me from ordering this plaid one and wearing it the same way. I ordered this turtleneck, which zips up in the back, to go with the scarf since I needed to reach my free shipping limit. I wore my cognac boots with a matching belt (and handbag), which both have antique gold buckles that match the zipper on my turtleneck. Lastly, I wore mint green bow earrings that match the green in the scarf perfectly (and happen to have gold lining and posts) and mint and blue eyeshadows and red lipstick.

Blanket scarf: Rue 21, approx. $3.50 (was $5 on clearance plus a coupon)
Turtleneck: $5
Earrings: Rue 21, 3prs., approx. $5, have had
Belt: my mother's from the 70s
Boots: have had
Eye shadows: Ulta and Avon

Colorific

I picked up this necklace on clearance last weekend and had to be creative with what to wear with it. Since I've been wanting to wear this high-low shirt again, it was a good opportunity to work with some ideas. I wore a white tee under the high-low shirt since the necklace has white in it and because, if I wore black, it would be too much-- the white breaks up the outfit. I wore pearl bracelets with a blue bead bracelet to go with the necklace, except the metals aren't matching (one is silver and one is gold-- I broke my own rule), and oversized pearl earrings. And, because I like these shoes with the high-low, peach shirt, I realized this hair scarf can bring the blue and maroon together. I wore peach, maroon and blue eye shadows and maroon lip gloss to finish off the color coordination. Yay or nay?? Thoughts?
