Winery concert

This was the day of probably my favorite summer memory this year. My husband and I went to a concert at a winery. I dressed farmish/country for the occasion with denim shorts and a blue and white gingham tie-shoulder, cold shoulder, puff sleeve top and a wide-brim straw hat. I wore shoulder-length black suede earrings and black platform sandals.

Easter egg colors

I had gotten these pink, high waist, ankle dress pants this summer and, this time, wore them with a lacy, mint green racerback with a white, floral kimono (definitely with lots of mint in it) and matching mint green d'orsay sandals. For accessories: blush handbag; mint green cage ring and matching necklace; heart-shaped floral-printed earrings--- these accidentally match perfectly(!!!); pink rose earrings; pink headband. Makeup: blush, mint and purple shadows; purple eyeliner; blush lipstick.

I kinda look like a farmer here, minus the hoop earrings and orthopedic-looking shoes. But, honestly, I love this outfit. I'll start by saying I absolutely L♥️VE these Hey Dude! shoes- not only do they cover my feet and toes and remain breathable for summer, but they're as light as air. In my opinion, more comfortable than being barefoot. 

I had also recently purchased these shortalls for $10 at Charlotte Russe. But, I'm not a junior and don't fit in junior's sizes, so got an XL, which I'm thankful for since they still just barely fit (!!!)

Anyway, we were going to friends' this day and it was flipping hot out, so I wore a coral racerback tank with denim, torn shortalls and a round, straw hat with silver hoops as well as a grey canvas Dickie's bag to match my shoes. I wore barely-there makeup (for me, that's concealer, eyebrow pencil, a lipstick to match whatever I'm wearing and eyeliner). This time- coral lip crayon.

We were going to see my favorite local band at (one of) my favorite spots on this night. I wore reggae/Jamaican colors since the music is ska and rock steady: a striped grass green, off-the-shoulder, bell-sleeve blouse with denim shorts, and marigold, black and green sandals. For accessories: marigold tassel earrings and handbag, green rose studs, and black and green wooden bangles and a black straw fedora. Makeup: marigold and black shadows with red lipstick. 

Max decided to join my photo and he happens to match!

I got these cobalt blue, high waist, belted, jogger dress pants on on clearance a couple months ago. This time, I wore them with a cobalt tank and a marigold, multicolor, tasseled shawl; marigold flats to drive; and marigold stilettos for the office. For accessories: a marigold handbag and headband; blue tassel hoops with pink rose studs; and a mint ring and mint necklace. For makeup: marigold and blue shadow, blue eyeliner and pink lipstick.

Shayna

Years ago, around 2003/04, I was at a show in Boston and met a girl named Shayna. She was wearing a worn out pair of Saucony sneakers with a short skirt. Little did I know we would later become friends when we would work together. We clubbed, we drank, we had fun. Years passed, we both married and lost touch as it often happens in life. She passed (unexpectedly I believe) a few years ago. Today would have been her 40th birthday. So, I'm naming this post of an outfit- a dress with worn out running sneakers- Shayna. I'll never forget you, old friend. ♥️♥️

Mall Madness

I had been wanting to wear this cream and camel plaid sleeveless top as well as this burgundy pleated skirt, so I pulled them together for a cute outfit. With it, I wore burgundy tassel earrings, a camel and burgundy argyle handbag, beige chunky heel sandals and a burgundy headband. For makeup: camel and burgundy shadows with burgundy lip gloss.

Golden Girl

I completely look like a Golden Girl here wearing a printed mint green, teal and cream pencil skirt with a golden sheer sleeveless top, lined with antique lace and a golden zipper up the back and mint green hell sandals. Underneath the sheer top (because, work), I wore a teal tank and added a mint green moto-jacket for the Polar Vortex AC at work.

 Accessories, you ask? Well, it's more like "what accessories DIDN'T I wear?" I wore: cream metal lace dangly earrings, mint green studs, and a really loud-like-a-wind-chime nautical themed necklace, a teal beaded ring, a teal velvet headband and a sea green handbag. You will see, below, I couldn't decide on which headband to wear. For makeup, I wore teal and mint shadows and teal liner and a bright lipstick, for the full old-lady effect.

My Godmother gave me this black floral print dress earlier this summer- tags and everything. I didn't think it would fit since it's two sizes smaller than my typical Large, but... it DOES! ... and I like it..a lot! We you may have seen before, I love prints because there are so many opportunities. Here, I decided to highlight a little of every color with coral lace-up stiletto sandals; marigold headband and handbag; a lacy olive ring; large, olive flower earrings and pink rose studs; olive eyeshadow and fuchsia lip crayon.

Mauve-ing on up

Here, I wore a long, sheer mauve vest with a mauve mock-neck tank and cutoffs. Normally I would wear pink sandals but decided on these multi-color tan and gold sandals so I could use this cognac handbag I got for my birthday. For jewelry, I only wore these (super cute) mauve argyle-print tassel earrings; for makeup: blush lipstick with pink and maroon shadows.

Mojito

We were going to see a local musician at a dive bar on this night, so I thought this fringe racerback tank with ankle jeans was perfect for the occasion. Since there is mint on the front of the shirt, I wore mint flat sandals and a mint moto-blazer. For jewelry: mint and silver stick earrings with a matching necklace and ring. Makeup: mint and black shadows and fuchsia lip crayon.

Legally blonde

Everytime I wear a lot of pink, I think of Reese Witherspoon in Legally Blonde. I'm definitely not a lawyer though. :/ 

Here, I wore a fuchsia faux satin skirt with a zip-up, criss-cross back, black floral sleeveless top and black lacy open-toe booties. For accessories: a pink knot headband adorned with silver beads (the silver matches the zipper on my shirt), a fuchsia interchangeable handbag, and pink and black rose stud earrings. For makeup: pink and black shadows and fuchsia lip crayon.

Mommy and me matching outfits?

I love this mock-neck black and marigold dress because it's versatile - it can be worn in summer AND throughout the fall. This time, I wore it with marigold everything- tassel earrings, handbag, sandals, and Max! 🦜 I added black rose studs to go with the black floral print. For makeup: marigold and black shadows with a bright lip crayon.

Dresses with sneaks

This was a trend that started a few years ago but I'm just catching up, I guess. Here are a couple of dresses with sneaks! And, I can't wait to wear more! 

In pic A., I'm wearing a short, sateen, pocketed dress adorned with a lace V-neck. With it, I wore classic white and black striped Adidas campus sneakers and matched with a white and black crossbody. I added a straw fedora with grey ribbon and black and white rose earrings to go with the lace. I was shopping outdoors with my niece, so wanted comfortable shoes, a hands-free bag and something to block the sun.

Colorful stripes

Here, I wore a fun, ruffly, multi-color striped wrap dress I picked up recently for a super discounted price! (Say that three times fast!) I've wanted this for a long time and finally found my size. With this many colors, there are so many possibilities for coordination, but this time, I highlighted the marigold with sandals, a handbag and tassel earrings. I added navy rose earrings, a coral palm leaf ring, coral beaded bangles, a coral beaded necklace and a yellow, fuchsia and white beaded necklace. Next time, I'll probably try more coral accessories instead of marigold. For makeup: coral lip crayon and marigold and navy shadows with navy eyeliner.

I wore this pastel ombre kimono with olive green high waist pants, a matching baby blue sleeveless lace bib-top and chunky heel sandals. For accessories, I opted for a light blue, round, woven handbag; pink marble acrylic hoops; baby blue rose studs; and a pink starfish ring. (Instead of blue tassel hoops, I went with the pink acrylic since they're gold and would match the ring.) For makeup: pink, light and dark blue shadows, blue liner, and light pink lipstick.

The Upside Down

A couple months ago, I wore this floral, bell-sleeve off-the-shoulder top with jeans and brown raised sandals. I kept it simple with just brown wooden earrings and, for makeup: red lipstick, navy shadow and brown liner- all to match the floral print.

Do the Hokey Pokey

We decided last minute that we were going to dinner to a nice place on the water one night. Wasn't really sure what to wear but this pink and purple long gingham, puff sleeve dress had been waiting for its unvealing. With it, I wore pink flat sandals and a fuchsia panda ring with a purple gem ring; and pink tassel earrings with purple rose studs. For makeup: fuchsia lip crayon and purple and pink shadows with purple liner.

HOT pink

Two outfits- one color! At the very beginning of the summer, I wore a hot pink, geometric-print tube top (are these even still fashion-worthy?) with cargo jogger capris (not sure what else to call these) and florescent pink flat sandals. This was a chill outfit while I was running errands, so just threw in some peach stud earrings. 

The other outfit was for work and, boy did I get a lot of compliments on this top! I picked it up recently and was excited to wear it- a high-low, mock-neck, geomtric-print white and florescent pink top, with black ankle pants (a different pair) of hot pink flat sandals. (Insert eye-roll here. Yes, I have two pairs of flat hot pink sandals, but it's a long story.) With this outfit, I added a gold, double-tiered v-shape necklace and gold triangle studs and gold bar earrings to go with the shapes in the top. For makeup: black shadow and hot pink lip gloss.

Coral Reef

Last month sometime, I wore this coral waist-tie blazer with thin, black dress pants and coral cutout, tie-up stiletto sandals. For the drive into the office, I wore flat coral and teal T-sandals, which are the inspiration for wearing teal accessories with this outfit- a teal beaded and silver statement necklace, teal bangles, a teal tank, and teal shadow and eyeliner. I also added a coral beaded necklace, coral bangles, a coral palm leave ring, and black, teal, orange and fuchsia doily earrings and coral lip crayon.

I wanted to squeeze in one more Patriotic outfit (not sure why I'm even wearing these colors this year) l. I hadn't gotten to wear this blue, color-block, high-low sun dress yet, that I scored at the end of the season last year. With it, I wore red chunky heel sandals and matching tassel earrings as well as blue rose studs. For work, I threw on a white moto jacket. Makeup: navy liner and shadow, and red lipstick.

Next Holiday, day two

I got this blue and white striped high-low skirt on clearance last year and finally pulled it out to wear to work today. With it, I wore a red sleeveless top and matching chunky heel sandals with a navy cardigan (for the office). I wore white rose studs and blue tassel earrings. For makeup: blue shadow and liner with red lipstick. 💋
