Wallpaper

My Godmother gave me this skirt with a matching sweater a few months ago. Lucky for me, it's floral AND colorful, which I love to play with. Here, I wore the skirt with a fuscia blazer, black strappy heels and a ton of teal and floral jewelry: black rose earrings and bracelet; teal bangles and a teal and silver statement necklace; silver hoops and bangles to bring it all together. For makeup: fuscia lipstick and teal and black shadows.

Aladdin?

"Are you going to see Aladdin tonight or something?" a colleague asked me.

No. No, I am not. BUT, I wore these colors and planned this outfit around the belt, which is an oldie from the 80s/90s. The cotton belt is striped with marigold, plum, pink and aqua. I chose to focus on the marigold, plum and aqua, as shown below. For jewelry, I wore purple and gold geometric dangly earrings that match perfectly with an un-related statement necklace. For makeup: marigold and purple shadows with a purple liner and gold lip gloss.

Fun, Friday colors.

Farm and Winery/Modern Country Farmer Barbie

I've been excited to post this outfit even if it was worn about a month ago. On this day, we went to see a friend's family farm and, then, to a winery. Why not dress the part? Here you have Modern Country Farmer Barbie- a blue and white gingham off the shoulder top, cutoffs, moto-boots, a neck bandana, and a flat-rimmed straw hat. The only thing that doesn't really go with the theme is my shark-attack handbag (but the colors matched!!) I wore silver hoops and, for makeup- blue and black shadows.

Top: JC Penney, 2018 clearance, $5-7
Handbag: Forever 21, $7.99?
Boots: The Shoe Dept, $19.99

MAUVEelous

Towards the end of August, I purchased what might be a sheer mauve beach cover up(??)/long vest with velvety floral design along with a matching mauve lace bandeau and mauve mock-neck cutout tank. The tank was probably too casual for work, but one could barely tell with a black pencil skirt and black rose-adorned wedges. For jewelry, I wore two sets of black rose studs and a black rose bracelet with dusty pink bangles. For makeup- dusty rose and mauve shadows and a muted pink lipstick coated with a shimmery mauve lip gloss. This was a vest that I didn't quite need, but can do so much with during every season. Can't wait to try it with matching ankle boots this fall/winter!

Vest, mock-neck tank, and bandeau: Charmed and Dangerous, $24/$9(?)/$12
Jewelry:
  • Black rose bracelet: warehouse sale, $5
  • Rose studs: both, eBay
  • Pink bangles: Rue 21, clearance

Bumbling right through

On this day a few weeks back, I wore a marigold high-low blouse with pleated, high waist dress pants. Pretty basic outfit, so I jazzed it up with antique gold and multi-tiered beaded chandelier earrings (marigold beads to match the top), an antique gold bib necklace, an antique gold cuff, along with an antique gold and purple gem ring (to go with the earrings). I wore marigold heels to match with the top even if they're not the same tone and marigold flats for traveling. My inspiration to wear marigold that day was really this new handbag I purchased for a total steal. For makeup, I wore marigold and black shadows and a purple-tinted lip gloss.

Top: Forever 21, $11
Pants: Guess, clearance, $19-24
Heels: NY&Co., $24
Flats: Amazon, $19
Earrings: gift
Cuff: Warehouse sale, $5
Ring: purchased through Avon years ago

Beat it

On this day, I was meeting my girls for brunch and I was planning on going to an antique car show after, so I wore a pink off-the-shoulder blouse (no tan lines from being outside). With it, I wore denim shorts and gold, camel and pink flat sandals. For accessories, I made sure I wore gold tones to go with my sandals with a pink and gold starfish ring and gold and pink acrylic earrings. I also wore pink rose studs and a (beat-up) straw fedora with pink details. For makeup: brown and pink shadows and brown eyeliner with pink lipstick.

Top: Charmed and Dangerous, garage sale, approx. $15
Sandals: Rainbow Shops, slae, 2/$10 each
Acrylic earrings: TJ Maxx, clearance, $8
Rose earrings: eBay
Hat: Target- dollar section, years ago, $5
Ring: gift
