IT'S ALMOST VALENTINE'S DAY!!! week mixed with the Blues again

It's the day before Valentine's Day!

I happened to wear this outfit on Navy Blue week, but didn't get to snap any pics. So, I wore the same outfit again, and in honor of Valentine's Day week. The outfit consists of this long maroon blazer, which is bottomed off with lace, and navy dress pants. Since the deep red heels I dreamt of wearing with this blazer don't actually match like I thought they would, I struggled with shoes. I ended up wearing dark brown ankle boots and a dark brown t-shirt to pull the colors together. Also added, was a gold and wooden bib necklace and a brown and gold accent handbag. To keep with the gold, I wore gold stick earrings. To bring more navy into the outfit, I wore a navy and gold watch and navy eye-shadow. I wore brown eyeliner and maroon lip gloss- all three colors from my outfit.

IT'S ALMOST VALENTINE'S DAY!!! week

It's almost Valentine's Day.....

Day Three

Every year at this time, I get to pull out this really cute (and interchangeable) handbag. It's a breast cancer awareness bag, but it also says the word LOVE on it, which is why I use it around my favorite Holiday. Today, I planned my outfit around the bag with a pink dolman top, grey skirt and tights and black boots and a black scarf. For jewelry, I wore pink rose earrings. Makeup: silver, pink and black shadows with pink lip gloss.

Handbag: Christmas gift a few years ago (magnetic shell changes)
Top: Rue 21, $5
Skirt: H&M, $12.99
Boots: K-Mart, $9
Earrings: eBay, 6/prs for $3-4
Scarf: gift shop in AK, $5

IT'S ALMOST VALENTINE'S DAY!!! week mixed with the Blues week!!

Today, I still wore some pink for Valentine's Day, but pulled off a continuation of navy blue week. I wore this floral multi-color top, which includes grey, navy and pinks, with a navy blue skirt and grey tights and ankle wedge heels. To match the pink, I wore all of the same accessories as yesterday (with the exception of these antique rose oversized pearl studs)- antique rose scarf, bracelets and rings. I added a navy blue and gold watch. This skirt actually has a gold zipper up the back, which makes me happy about the gold jewelry and gold in the watch, even if the zipper is hidden. (This shirt is meant to be worn untucked, so it covers the zipper.)

For makeup, I wore grey, maroon and navy shadows with navy gel-liner and maroon matte lip gloss.

Scarf: Refer to yesterday's post

Navy Blue week has been interrupted by IT'S ALMOST VALENTINE'S DAY!!! week

Seven days until Valentine's Day!

This means I'm wearing pink and/or red until the Holiday is over. Today, I wore a brown and pink sweater that hasn't made an appearance in a while (or at all this winter). I wore a brown pencil skirt, leggings and boots, but, for pink, I wore an antique rose scarf with matching stackable rings and bangles. For earrings, I wore gold stick earrings to match the gold in the other jewelry (and the buckles on my boots). For makeup, I wore pink and brown eyeshadows with brown liner and pink lip crayon. For outside, I even wore a pink coat!

The Blues...day three

Third day with navy blue...
...I purchased this skirt around the Holidays and have yet to wear it until now. I recently purchased this (fuchsia) blazer over the weekend, so it worked out well since I've been wanting to wear navy and fuschia together for a while. The colors cancel each other out-- bright vs. dark. I did struggle with what shoes to wear since I don't have matching boots. I settled with brown, but had to make sure I incorporated brown somewhere else in the outfit, so wore a brown tank underneath the jacket. To pull the colors together, I wore a floral and magenta scarf that has beige and navy tones. For jewelry, I wore perfectly matching fuchsia triangle studs and a gold octopus ring that happens to have pink stone and brown bead details. My brown handbag matched my boots and tank, but also my jewelry and skirt with the gold accents.

For makeup, I wore brown and navy eye shadows with navy liner and magenta lip crayon.

The Blues...day two

It's Day Two of Navy Blue! Today, I wore a plain navy turtle neck that zips up the back of the neck (the reason I wore my hair up). I matched navy blue tights with my turtle neck and then wore a solid camel pencil skirt, camel boots, a matching head wrap and, lastly, camel chandelier earrings. The earrings are antique gold, which matches both the zipper on my top the hardware on my boots. Simple outfit, but I did like the way it came out.

For makeup, I wore camel and navy shadows with navy gel liner.

Turtle neck: Rue 21, $5
Skirt: have had
Tights: given to me from Godmother (she just handed me a whole bag of fleece-lined leggings and
tights that I will certainly get some wear out of!)
Boots: Alloy?; $15?
Head wrap: have had
Earrings: handed down to me from (other) Aunt; from the 80s
Makeup: Camel: Ulta; Navy: Avon; Liner: Ulta

The Blues...day one

I've decided....it's going to be a navy blue week! Today, I wore this argyle sweater (since I haven't worn it yet this winter) with navy dress pants. This sweater, while very preppy for me, is fun to match with. I purchased the sweater and necklace together because I thought they matched well and because I love different shades of blue together. To go with the necklace, I wore wavy silver hoops-- the necklace has wavy silver circles on it. For additional jewelry, I wore periwinkle and teal rings, which both match the sweater and necklace pretty well. To go with the grey in the sweater, I wore a grey head wrap and grey wedge ankle boots. For makeup, I wore periwinkle, navy and teal eye shadows with grey gel liner.

Sweater & Necklace: Van Heusen outlet store, NH, years ago, cost: ?
Pants: Kohl's, $20
Earrings: given to me from Aunt
Shoes: Old Navy, have had for a while
Makeup: Teal: Tarte; Periwinkle: NYC; Navy: Avon; Liner: Ulta

Florals

Just before the Holidays, I had scored this set of bangles and stackable rings. And, since I hadn't worn this shirt in a while and because it's fun to match with, I went for it. I wore the top with navy straight leg pants and charcoal ankle boots. In addition to the antique rose jewelry, I also added a matching scarf and pink rose earrings. I like how the floral rings and rose earrings go with the floral pattern of the shirt. Thankfully, the gold-toned jewelry matched the buckles on my boots...
For makeup, I wore navy and pink eye shadows with charcoal eyeliner and pink lip crayon (although, I was tossed up between pink and burgundy, which is also another color in the top).

Top: Christmas gift 2015, Vera Wang for Kohl's
Scarf: Rue 21, clearance, $5
Bracelets: Rue 21?, clearance, $2
Rings: Charlotte Russe?, clearance, $2
Earrings: have had, eBay
Pants: Kohl's, $20
Shoes; have had, Old Navy
Makeup: all Ulta, except navy shadow (Avon)
