🐘Save Your Community and the Elephants, yo! 🐘

This was my birthday, earlier this month. We went to breakfast and to the zoo, so I dressed comfy with skinny regular-hem-but-fit-me-like-ankle jeans with a pink, Boston cityscape Ivory Ella tee and pink Tom's slip-ons. Since the cityscape print has yellow in it, I added a vintage, mustard braided belt and a mustard knot headband. For makeup: pink and mustard shadows with a mauve highlight, and blush lipstick.

Tee: Ivory Ella, $25ish
Jeans: Old Navy, $12
Hoodie: Holiday gift
Shoes: Frugal Fannie's, Tom's, clearance, $24ish
Belt: vintage hand-me-down from Aunt (circa 1980s/90s)

True Blue

Last month, I went for a shopping date with my aunts. It was a sunny, but windy day and maybe in the 50s. I'd been really wanting to wear this sweatshirt dress with just navy ankle boots, but it was too chilly, so I added navy leggings. For accessories, I wore a multi-beaded bauble necklace with shades of periwinkle, teal, and blue, blue tassel earrings, a navy rim hat, a navy print handbag and a blue and periwinkle beaded ring. For makeup: blue and periwinkle shadows and fuchsia lipstick.

Makeup: blush and maroon shadows and blush and maroon lipstick and gloss (couldn't decide which one).

Smorgasbord

This was a night last month we went out to watch/listen to a musician we like. My Aunt had given me this un-worn embroidered, ruffly babydoll shirt a while back and I thought it would look cute with these faux suede camel leggings (that I HAD to have). The top has lots of colors including maroon, beige, blue, pink and orange. For accessories, I wore maroon knee-high chunky heel boots, maroon tassel earrings, a gold triangle necklace and gold zig-zag ring to match-- these go with the shapes on the top. I also added a peach beaded necklace and a camel and maroon argyle handbag with a camel scally cap.

For makeup: burgundy and camel shadows with burgundy lipgloss.

It hasn't felt like spring this season, but I can certainly dress for it. I wore navy ponte pants and ankle boots and, for other accessories, added teal circle earrings; a round, light blue woven handbag; a periwinkle white beaded headband; and a blue and periwinkle beaded ring. For makeup, I wore periwinkle and blue shadows with teal liner.

I heard it through the grapevine

I could be a raisin or an oversized bruise here. I actually like how this outfit came out, quite a bit. Both (lavender and, well, raisin) cardigans were hand-me-downs from my Godmother. I wore them with black ponte pants and ankle boots, but added plenty of accessories: a plum beret, a long multi-strand necklace with a purple beaded gem charm, a shorter multi-strand purple, beaded necklace with a peacock charm, a silver and lavender ring, purple beaded hoop earrings and a beaded cuff. The beading on the shorter necklace goes well with the cuff and the earrings. I added this purple iridescent geometric, foldable, re-shapeable handbag.

For makeup: fuchsia lipstick, and purple shadow.

Shoes: ?, XOXO, $17-20

A friend of mine had a baby, so I took maternity leave.

We do know a few new babies and, it's true- I do have a friend (or 5 that had a baby recently (one friend, in particular- you know who you are mu-wah!), but I really just went on a vacation, took a new job and accidentally found myself on hiatus. The new job doesn't require me to dress up as much, so I'll admit, I'm not wearing as many cute outfits these days, especially when I'm working from home!

But, here, you'll see an outfit I wore back in February-- I don't even have bangs anymore! This retro-printed cocoon cardigan was a Holiday gift from my mother. It perfectly matches this necklace I've had for years with its peach and lime flower charm. With the cardigan, I wore a dusty rose, puff shoulder blouse over a neon green tank, black ponte pants and dusty rose booties. For additional jewelry, I wore a faux gem ring to match another necklace charm, and peach rose earrings. For makeup: neon green and peach shadows, dusty rose lipstick. I added an adorned dusty rose headband- the metal beads match the necklace metal.
