Go Bruins! (and Wu-Tang)

I was supposed to go see Wu-Tang tonight, but, in case you haven't heard, the Bruins are in the Stanley Cup and tonight is game 7! I've been tossed up on which to do (go to Wu or watch the Bs), but one thing is for sure- yellow and black colors represent each!! 💛🖤 Today, I wore a marigold sheath high-low top with a black pencil skirt and marigold heels and flats. I added a black moto-blazer and a multi-strand, sparkly and pearl matching necklace and earring set, coupled with an open-ended sparkly necklace. I also wore rhinestone studs for extra sparklies. For makeup: marigold and black shadows with a bright lipstick.

Another round?

Here is another round of  black and tan....clothing, not drink. Here, I wore a black and tan striped blazer with all black, and tan ankle boots. For jewelry, I wore a gold double-chained v-necklace since it goes with the assymetrical cut of the blazer, with gold stick earrings. However, I added a silver necklace to mix it up a bit, since the charm has, both, tan and black gems. For makeup: black and tan shadows and gold lip gloss.

Blazer: hand-me-down from fairy godmother
Shoes: Unionbay, Amazon, $23?
Jewelry:

  • Gold double-v necklace: Charmed and Dangerous, clearance, $7-8
  • Silver necklace: birthday or Holiday gift years ago

Name this post

I love this outfit! Not just because it's camel, but because the top is assymetrical AND has lace on it, not to mention it's a great (comfy) material. With it, I wore rolled up jeans, camel ankle boots and a camel cabby hat along with multi-strand chandelier earrings. For makeup: camel shadow and gold lip gloss. Worn to breakfast on a Saturday on a cool morning in May.

Top: Charmed and Dangerous, $24
Hat: have had for yeeeears

Just a normal day at work

I think this outfit was probably too dressy for just a regular work day, but I had it picked out since the Holidays(!!!) I never got to wear it like a lot of my other outfits, due to a surgery I had.

Well, here we have another hand-me-down [cut-out, mock neck top] along with a hand-me-down [sparkly beaded] belt. With them, I wore a black pencil skirt (shocker!) and black, strappy, patent leather stilettos. For accessories, I wore faux oversized diamonds, hand-me-down [black beaded] studs and thin metal black and silver headbands, to go with the belt. For makeup, charcoal shadow and a bright lipstick for some color.

Top and belt: hand-me-downs, fairy Godmother
(Other) Accessories:
  • Black earrings: hand-me-down, mother
  • Sparkly: earring set, clearance, have had
  • Headbands, CVS, set of three

Too busy??

Here we have some hand-me-down skinny pants that I never thought I'd fit into. It just so happens, that they're cute AND comfy! With them, I wore a black lace mock-neck, statement sleeve blouse with a white tee underneath (to match the black and white pants), and black heels. For jewelry, I kept with the antique look of the top and wore double-sided (faux) pearl earrings and bracelets and black rose studs with a black rose bracelet. For makeup, white and black shadows and a bright lipstick for a pop of classy color.

I thought that, when I wore this, the top might be too busy with the pants- what do you think?

Shady

I likely wore this outfit last over the winter months with thigh-high boots. But, here, I wore this [tan and black color-block tie blouse and tan and black plaid pencil skirt] with patent leather Mary Jane pumps. And, instead of  the gold stick earrings that I would normally wear to go with the gold buttons, I wore black and gold tassle earrings. For makeup, I still wore black and tan shadows and a bright lipstick for some color.

I purchased this blouse and skirt as an outfit, but as I look at it, I always feel they don't match quite as well as I would like. Too much tan? Maybe black blazer would help.

Blouse, skirt and tassle earrings: NY&Co., 50% off sale, last year
Shoes: Liz Claiborne, JC Penney, clearance, $11!!!!

Chocolate

We were going to a casual family party and I don't get nearly enough wear out of my 'going out' or 'not for work' clothes, so I grabbed something I'd never worn. For example, this cold-shoulder, brown button down was handed-down to me sometime last year and it still hadn't been worn yet. With it, I wore black ankle boots (yes, black with brown**), jeans and a black tank. I wore a brown and black handbag** and a brown and gold statement necklace with gold and brown oversized hoop earrings. For makeup: brown shadow, black liner and a bright lipstick for some color.

Blouse: Chico's, hand-me-down from Godmother
Earrings: K-Mart, going out of business sale, $0.99
Necklace: Bebe, hand-me-down from Godmother
Bag: eBay, years ago, $8-9?

Pick out an outfit for me to wear tomorrow!

Not sure what color(s) or type of outfit I want to wear tomorrow. It'll be cooler, so long sleeves and tights, still, or pants with heels (no socks). Challenge me to an outfit you like or give me a color....

Who doesn't love a dress with pockets?

A few weeks back, I wore this black tea-length very comfy cotton dress...that has pockets!! With it, I wore a geometric patterned and lace scarf (black, beige, brown, fucsia) and (beige and black) colorblock heels. Since the dress needed something a little bit longer than the scarf, I added a long multi-strand, multi-toned necklace. Then, I added two sets of earrings to go with, both, the necklace and scarf: black rose studs to go with the black lace in the scarf and multi-metal stranded chandelier earrings to go with the necklace. For makeup, I wore beige and black shadows and a fucsia lipstick.

Dress: Amazon, lighning deal, $11
Shoes: Charlotte Russe, $20
Necklace: warehouse sale, $5
Earrings: Chandelier: hand-me-down from Aunt; Black rose: eBay
Makeup: Ulta

Jade

This outfit was worn probably about a month ago. Not sure it's one of my favorites, but I do like the top a lot-- a jade-green jersey with 3/4 lace bell statement sleeves. For jewelry, I wore two light-blue and light-green gem-toned floral necklaces, one long and one short. The floral necklaces go nicely with the lace print on the sleeves. For earrings, also light-blue and light-green back/front and silver and mint studs. With the top, I wore charcoal high-waist pants and charcoal ankle boots. For makeup: jade shadow and a bright lipstick.

Top: Charmed and Dangerous Boutique, $28?
Earrings: back-front: K-Mart, clearance, $2?; studs: Christmas gift, set of four (matching with necklace)
Neclaces: Both Christmas gifts from sister-in-law; studs match with shorter necklace
Pants: NY&Co.
Shoes: The Shoe Dept.
Makeup: Ulta

T.H.U.G. L.I.F.E./Tu-Pacalicious

T'was Good Friday and all through the house, not an article of clothing was stirring....except my Tu-Pac mer-man button down. With it, I wore black ponte pants and Docs. Of course, I couldn't wear something Tu-Pac without also wearing a bandana, which I wore around my neck. For the record, I love wearing a bandana as a head band tied on top like rabbit ears, but...with the shirt, it would have looked like I was impersonating him. Also, Tu-Pac used to wear all different colored bandanas, but I opted with blue since that's the color he's wearing in the print. To add some feminity to this look, I wore purple beaded hoops and maroon eyeshadow and lipgloss; the purple shades match the Tu-Pac mer-man tail.

Tu-Pac button down: locally made, Flaunt Boutique, $40
Pants: Wright's Chicken Farm Gift Shop, $19
Dr. Marten's: eBay, $60, worn once
Bandana: actually a Patriots bandana, but worn inside out, Christmas gift one year
Earrings: hand-me-down from Aunt
Makeup: Ulta
