Life is Short...Buy the Shoes

A few weeks ago, I was gifted this antique rose tee, which suits me well since it has both a photo of an antique car and mentions shoes...It's ultra light and comfy and, as it turns out, I had plenty of accessories to go with it!! :)

I wore the tee with black paperbag shorts, tucked in the front, with black flip flops since I was just running errands. For accessories, I wore a black straw fedora, antique rose bangles and rings with antique rose oversized pearl earrings. For makeup: antique rose lip crayon (or lip gloss- I couldnt choose) and black and pink eye shadow. Thanks, Auntie!

The Bee's Knees

Still a bit backed up on blog posts, so this outfit is from May. I was gifted this awesome(!!!) Tim Burton handbag that I wanted and HAD to wear black and white to go with it. I wore a striped and lace tee with jeans, but with a marigold waterfall cardigan to break up the black and white. Coincidentally, without trying, I wore this bee and white rose knuckle ring, which worked well with black stripes and yellow. For other accessories, I wore a black rose bracelet and black rose earrings- to go with the lace. Last, but not least, black and white women's wingtips. For makeup, I wore marigold and black eyeshadows (not shown).

I purchased this racerback tank back in February at a VS outlet store. It turns out, I didn't have to wait until July 4th to wear it.
For Memorial Day, I wore the top with jeans and a red cardigan - it was still chilly!! To go all out, I wore camo flats, a Swarvowski star necklace and a navy  Patriots bandana. For makeup,  red lip stick and navy eyeshadow.

Dust-that-Dirt-Off-Your-Shoulders

It's summertime and off-the-shoulder blouses are big this year. I've had this coral printed top for years, however. On this day, I wore it with matching sandals and jewelry- gold and coral stick earrings, gold and coral bangles, and a gold and coral leaf ring. I hadn't worn this brown summer fedora yet since I got it for Christmas, and since my hair was wet and unstylish, I thought it would be a good touch. Lastly, I wore white dress shorts that were given to me and, for makeup, coral lip crayon and dark brown and peach eyeshadows to go with the top.

Disney Princess?

Alright, alright,- it's been so long that I've posted that my husband has been asking me to pull down my backdrop, what is also known as a sheet. I have so many outfits built up in photos, I'm not sure where to start, so here is a good one I wore last week even though someone told me I looked like a Disney Princess... 😡 Disney Princess? Maybe Into the Woods with this skirt.

I had a riskier plan for this skirt- I was going to wear a black and white striped and lace tee with black and white shoes to pull the outfit together. That morning, I decided it would happen another day (some other Friday this summer). The skirt is wild enough on it's own, so I decided to match with it and I was pleased with the result. I wore a blue sleeveless top with, both, a black faux leather belt and pumps. The skirt only has some black in it, but wearing black accessories toned down the skirt and also made it look less artsy and more dressy. For jewelry, I kept with the floral theme in the skirt and wore black and yellow rose earrings and a matching black rose bracelet, along with a black head wrap. For makeup- yellow and black eyeshadows.

Skirt: birthday gift 2016, from Amazon, $15-18

Beetlejuice

In looking back at this outfit from a couple weeks ago, the stripes remind me of Beetlejuice even if, in the movie, he wears black and white. Nonetheless, this black and camel blazer goes so perfectly with these black and camel colorblock heels. I had worn this outfit the day of event at work and packed a black and camel colorblock dress to change into, but was urged to keep this on. For jewelry, I only wore black stick earrings, which would have worked with the dress, as well. For makeup, camel and black eye-shadows.

Blazer: hand-me-down from Godmother
Skirt: Express outlet, $18
Shoes: Charlotte Russe, BOGO a couple years ago, $20?

Last hurrah

A couple weeks back, I decided to give this shawl one more wear before the spring comes. Again, because of it's multi-color pattern, I can do so much with it. But, this time, I focused on the mint green and navy. I wore a mint green cardigan with a matching statement necklace and bow earrings. For navy, I wore a watch, pencil skirt and tights and, then brown boots (also a color in the shawl). The zipper on my skirt (not shown here) and the watch are both gold, which matches my earrings and necklace.
For makeup, I wore seafoam green shadow covered by an iridescent shadow and dark brown shadow for contouring.

Skirt: Nordstrom Rack, $15
Watch: purchased on a cruise, set of 6 interchangeable watchbands, $24
Necklace: Secret Santa gift last year

Antique

One day last week, I wore this high-neck ruffly blouse, which I absolutely love plus it fits to a T! With it, I wore high-waist ankle pants and black patent ruffly heels. For jewelry, to go for a 'classic' look, I wore a modern day version of pearl earrings- double sided- and also, some pearl bracelets. One thing I might have done differently is wear pearls that match the buttons on the top. Lastly, a bun in the hair. Sexy librarian? Probably not, but maybe more of a mix between a sixties professional and a housewife in the early 1900s.

Top: Birthday gift last year, Amazon
Pants: Frugal Fannies, $15
Shoes: Shoe Dept. Encore, $15-20, a couple years ago
Earrings: eBay, purchased for wedding, $2-3
Bracelets: mother gave to me

Grey or Blue?

I was recently given this crochet-back cardigan and I wanted to wear this necklace again (I've only worn it once), so it helped pre-determine the rest of the outfit. Next, I knew I would wear a grey shirt under the cardigan to bring the beige and grey together in the outfit....Although, some were saying the necklace is beige and blue rather than grey...What do you think???

Since I won't get to wear boots much longer with the season change, I wore these beige boots that didn't match perfectly with the cardigan, but the buckles [on the boots] actually did. And since both the buckles on the boots and the necklace have gold tones, I wore gold stick earrings. For makeup, I wore beige and black eyeshadows (the black to go with the black skirt) and nude lipstick.

Cardigan: hand-me-down from Godmother
Grey top: Old Navy, have had
Necklace: Christmas gift from colleague
Earrings: Charming Charlie's, $3.99, clearance

Sangria

On this day....which was a couple weeks ago (yikes!), I had been wanting to wear this peach blazer since I had only gotten to wear it once, so far, and I HAD to have it when I bought it in December. The next part was finding what I wanted to wear with it and ended up with this faux suede maroon pencil skirt and matching heels. To pull the maroon into the outfit, I wore a lace and floral print scarf. To go with the peach (and floral print) , I wore peach rose earrings and a peach rose bracelet. I also wore black rose earrings and cream and gold bangles- to go with the cream and black floral print in the scarf. The gold bangles match the gold beads on the rose bracelet and the gold accents in my peach rose earrings. One of the gold bangles is pearl, which also matches the pearls in my peach rose earrings. Lastly, I wore gold stackable rings, one of which was a cream rose.....

For makeup: peach and black eye-shadow and maroon lip gloss.
