Spring is here

I think this outfit was the first day of spring. If not, it looks like it!
I wore this periwinkle cardigan with a teal tee to match with the beaded necklace. For other jewelry, I wore teal circle earrings, blue (faux) pearl studs, and a periwinkle beaded ring with a couple matching benefit bracelets and a silver, wavy bracelet (that goes with the wavy accents on the necklace).  For makeup: teal and periwinkle shadows with a nude lipstick- a bright lipstick would (still) make me look like a clown.

Tee: Kohl's, $5
Necklace: Van Heusen Factory Outlet, $12
Earrings: blue: worn at wedding; teal: gift, set of 3prs.
Silver bracelet: give to me

For jewelry, gold stick earrings to go with the gold zipper on my skirt. Makeup: mustard and navy shadows with navy liner.

Earth Day

On Earth Day, I wore green and blue with brown. But, the green and blue was chosen long before since I realized they would match perfectly with with these beaded hoop earrings. I added brown for the remainder of the outfit- skirt, tights and shoes, since I didn't have shoes to match the green and blue. I could have worn black, but brown was much more appropriate.

Earrings: Christmas gift one year
Skirt: Amazon, $15?
Shoes: have had for years

Easter

I purchased this blush blouse a few weeks ago and decided to reserve it for Easter. The bell sleeves are lace with purple flowers embroidered. When I saw it, my eyes lit up. I wore it with a pink pencil skirt and blush flats, though I did toy with wearing antique rose booties. For jewelry, I wore peach rose studs, purple dangly earrings and a purple cocktail ring. Though, one was gold-toned and one was silver, which is one of my big faux pas. For makeup, pink and purple eyeshadows and purple eyeliner and, I threw a purple ribbon into my pony.

Blouse: Charmed and Dangerous, $26
Skirt: Nordstrom Rack, $19.99
Flats: ??, but wish I bought more of these!

InVEST in Ruffles

I purchased this vest on a whim a few weeks ago. I saw it and couldn't resist-- lace AND ruffles, not to mention it's a neutral color! I wasn't sure what I would wear it with, but it ended up pairing well with this puffy-shoulder blouse and matching, ruffly ankle boots. Since I like cream and antique-rose, I had more than enough accessories to go. In fact, I was tossed up between the necklace you shown below and another. I ended up wearing this cream and pink rose statement necklace. It goes will with this blouse since it's a deep V-neck. Additionally, I wore a pink flower ring and a cream rose ring along with cream and antique-rose bangles. Lastly, I wore these cream, lace-patterned earrings, which go PERFECTLY with the vest!!!For makeup: antique-rose and cream eye-shadows and a mure pink lipstick.

Boston Strong

I had planned this outfit a long time ago, for Marathon Monday. However, I was off work, so reserved it for a day later. The colors aren't quite on point as they have been in previous years (colbalt and bright yellow), but marigold and navy will do the trick. I wore this blue printed skirt, navy tights and a navy tank with a marigold cardigan and marigold heels. For makeup: marigold and navy eyeshadows with navy liner. For jewelry, I decided to wear this necklace with white accents. The necklace has sparkly gems (and some leave-shaped patterns), so I wore sparkly gem costume earrings along with a white leave-shape patterned bracelet (earrings are also leave-shape patterned). Since the latter only had white details, I added sparkly bangles to go together with the necklace. All jewelery was received/purchased on different occasions but tend to go well together, even with the antique gold tones.

It's not the Holidays, but it's always season for Christmas Carols... Silverrrr and gooold

Still wearing items that haven't been worn enough this winter. This time, it was this beige lace and tasseled  pullover shawl with high-waist, pleated pants and ankle boots. For jewelry, I first went with some chandelier earrings that matched the antique theme of the shawl; from there, I added a multi-strand, multi-tone necklace. The earrings are, too, multi-strand and multi-tone (with pearls). For bracelets, I put on assorted silver, gold and pearl bangles. For makeup: camel and black shadows with a bright lipstick for some color.

Mimi Boebeck

I can't believe I was still wearing such a thick sweater last week! It's still not quite the warmer spring weather we're looking for. Again, I decided to take advantage of the long-drawn out winter weather and re-wear some winter clothes that I don't think got enough attention this past season.

This outfit entails a teal blue, ruffly sweater with high-waist, pleated dress pants and black ankle boots. For jewelry, I wore a teal blue gem cocktail ring and bracelet and teal dangly gem earrings. For makeup: teal shadow and neutral lipstick (because, remember, I don't want to look like a clown or Mimi from the Drew Carey show). I wore my hair in a high pony, likely because I didn't have time to do anything else with it, but it shows off the earrings instead of coverig them.

Pants: Guess, clearance, $18
Jewelry: all: warehouse sale, earrings: $2, ring: $1, bracelet: $3

Black and White day 3

I wore a lot of black and white last week. On this day, we had a special event, so I wore this high-low white blazer with black lapels with a black pencil skirt and black ankle boots. For jewelry, I stuck with silver tones since the buttons on the jacket are silver. The necklace and earring set are chains mixed in with faux pearls and rhinestones. For makeup, black shadow.

Blazer: Venus, sale, $35?
Necklace/earrings set: Christmas gift years ago, Vera Wang for Kohl's

More...black and white

I ordered this pair of black and white postal pants in the fall and hadn't worn them yet! Last week, I wore them (finally!) with black ankle boots and a white button down. But, since I was still working through re-wearing winter items, I decided to add on this white, ruffle cutout sweater. For jewelry, I wore a silver-toned black and white beaded necklace with silver wavy hoops and a silver wavy bracelet. For makeup, I wore black shadow.

Button down: Express, 50% off sale, $18?

Making waves

These black and white plaid pants were (also) given to me by my Godmother and I have still been wearing one-more-time winter stuff. So, here we have black and white skinny pants, which I was shocked to fit into, let alone comfortably, and a white sweater with a black ruffle. I wore black ankle boots and a wavy silver bracemet and wavy silver earrings to go with the ruffles. For makeup, black shadow.

Pants: hand-me-down
Sweater: Nordstrom Rack, clearance, $14
Boots: The Shoe Dept., $20-25?
Earrings and bracelet: given to me from (a different) Aunt
Makeup: Ulta
