Togetherness

I guess I've been in the mood to wear beige- I think it was the new boots I hadn't worn yet as well as the new top I got for Christmas and (another) top I was given. So, I decided to pull the three outfits together, below, since they are all very similar. One shirt worn twice- both inside and outside of work, all jewelry and makeup is the same with all three outfits. The only difference is which bottoms and shoes I wore. You could actually just interchange my hairdo and sweater with the two work outfits.

Fringe sweater: Christmas gift from brother, he has good taste
Cowl neck sweater: hand-me-down from Aunt (along with another one in grey)
Ponte pants: Amazon, $14
Pencil skirt: have had, Kohl's
Beige boots: The Shoe Store, clearance, $11 (purchased in three colors)
Black boots: Rue 21, a few years ago, sale, $15
Earrings: given to me from Aunt

Makeup: Ulta; The Body Shop

Does Aquaman wear a cape?

This was a low-key, quiet day at work with very few people around. Normally, wouldn't wear knee-high boots with pants to work, but here, I wore aqua and black plaid ponte pants with black knee-high, chunky heel boots, a black knit cape edged with faux leather and an aqua long-sleeve tee. I accumulated a lot of teal-like colors a few years back and it's a color I'm still drawn to. For jewelry, I wore an oversized teal rose ring, teal jewel costume earrings and a multi-strand, sparkly adorned and teal necklace. For makeup: a bright lipstick and teal eyeshadow.

Cape: NY&Co., a couple years ago, sale, $20?
Long-sleeve tee: Holiday gift years ago
Pants: Sears, $19.99
Boots: The Shoe Store, a couple years ago, $18-19?
Necklace: Holiday gift years ago, Vera Wang

TV scrambles

I'm normally don't love wearing black and white these days since I've accumulated a lot for work colors. Anyway, here I am in black and white plaid skinny pants-- that, from afar, kind of look like when the TV used to scramble-- and a white, ruffly cutout sweater, over a black button-down with gold buttons. I wore black ankle boots and black and gold tassle earrings and gold bangles (to go with the buttons). For makeup: gold and black shadows and a bright lipstick.

Buitton-down and Pants: Hand-me-downs, from Godmother
Sweater: Express, sale, few years ago, $19ish
Shoes: NY&Co., fall 2018, $29.99

Pink Alligator and Panda

This was the weekend just after Christmas. I had purchased these earrings recently and was excited to wear hot pink. I was mostly inspired by a hot pink shawl I wanted, but sold out. Then, I remembered I had this hot pink cardigan that was given to me...and a marching purse!!! So, I wore [the cardigan] with a hot pink tee and a pink tank underneath, with charcoal ponte pants and black riding boots. I also wore a pink panda ring and the hot pink magnetic handbag (the shell changes!!) with fuscia lipstick and charcoal eyeshadow. Thankfully the black boots kind of went with my purse since it's undershell is black.

Cardigan (and tank): hand-me-down from Godmother
Tee: hand-me-down from friend
Pants: Kohl's, a few years ago, clearance. Vera Wang, $11
Boots: The Shoe Dept, last year, $20

Holiday Post Number 15- Christmas Eve

Alas- it was Christmas Eve! I think I ended up with a meatlof of clothing, if you will- the leftovers of what I didn't get to wear yet. I wore this cream furry vest with a green, sheath, button down blouse- both items I had separate outfits planned with. With the vest and top, I wore black ponte pants with burgundy knee-high boots, a black and cream lace and floral scarf- this tied the green, cream, burgundy and black all together. These ponte pants are my new favorite, so I ordered another pair- they are by No Nonsense, the nylon brand. For jewelry: burgundy tassle earrings and green rose studs along with a reindeer ring. For makeup: burgundy and green shadows with green liner and burgundy lipgloss.

Vest: Rue 21, a few years ago, $15
Blouse: Amazon, birthday gift a few years ago maybe $12?
Pants: Amazon, $14
Boots: The Shoe Dept., clearance, $14.97

Holiday Post Number 14- Advent

Purple for the Holidays? The plan was to wear this outfit with a red wrap and red boots. But, the boot style did not work with these tapered ankle pants. I ended up wearing burgundy with the purple, which I wasn't crazy about, but still needed some sort of red for the Holidays. Though, I guess purple is the color of Advent if I really wanted to stretch it. I had been looking forward to wearing this outfit this Holiday season and had it picked out for a play we were going to see. The photos do not do these pants justice- they are really fab!

In the end, I ended up with a mock-neck purple blouse to match purple drape-front ankle pants, burgundy ankle boots and burgundy tassle earrings. For makeup, I wore burgundy and purple shadows, purple liner and burgundy lipstick.

Top and pants: NY&Co., sale, $20/$35
Boots: Rue 21, a few years ago, sale, $15
Earrings: Frugal Fannie's, a few years ago, $8ish
Makeup: Ulta, Lancome (purple shadow palette)

Do you know the punchline? Comment with it! Maybe you will get a special post. ;)

Here, I was getting through my work Holiday colors, so here I wore a red 3/4 open-front cardigan with a white button-down, a red tank underneath, and black and white plaid skinny pants. For accessories, I wore red rose stud and black tassle earrings and black ankle boots. For makeup: black shadow and red lipstick.

Holiday Post Number 12- No makeup!

I know, I know- the Holidays are over but, I have to follow through and post each Holiday-themed outfit.

Here, I wore a long, tie-up burgundy blazer trimmed with antique lace. With it, I wore burgundy ankle boots and black ponte pants. For jewelry- burgundy tassle earrings. And for makeup, I actually have none on in these photos. I was likely running late (but still had time to snap these pics). Later on, however, I put on burgundy lip gloss and black shadow.

Blazer: Venus, a couple years ago, sale, $30ish
Pants: Amazon, $14
Shoes: Rue 21, a few years ago, sale, $15
Earrings: Frugal Fannie's, $5-8

Holiday Post Number 11- Put a bow on top

Here I wore a black cardigan with a black pencil skirt. This became a Holiday outfit with a black (maroon and green) floral scarf, a green tank, a green bow belt and maroon knee-high chunky-heel boots. I wore green rose earrings, green eyeshadow and maroon lipgloss. I might look a little like a Christmas tree, but the outfit came together nicely.

Holiday Post Number 10- Golden Girls

This may be one of my favorite Holiday outfits this year because it was so fun to match. BUT, I can't help but think some might see this as something one of the Golden Girls would wear.

See for yourself- a maroon pleated tea-length skirt with a sheer, floral ruffly mock-neck and maroon knee-high chunky boots. I wore maroon tassle earrings with maroon lipgloss, maroon and green shadows and green eyeliner to match the maroon and green in the top.

Skirt: Sears, $20
Top: JC Penney, last year, clearance, $5
Boots: The Shoe Store, clearance, $11
Earrings: Frugal Fannie's, $5-8?
