Honey Bee

When I wore this outfit, it was a warmer fall day (and maybe the last we would have for the season). This top was perfect for the weather since it's tweed, but sleeveless. To keep it looking conservative, I wore a black pencil skirt and my hair in a high bun, but still rocked strappy stilettos. For makeup: marigold and black eyeshadows and for jewelry, I wore yellow rose earrings.

Top: New York & Co., sale, $15-20?
Skirt: Express, sale, $20
Heels:Charlotte Russe, $15-19
Earrings: eBay, multi-set, $4

Goldilocks

When I wore this outfit, I was able to go a little more casual than business since I was at a workshop. Really, the only difference is my ponte pants instead of a skirt or dress pants. With them, I wore a marigold high-low, sheer, sleeveless blouse and black pumps with a faux-leather trimmed blazer for the cool morning. I wanted to wear a long necklace, which I had some trouble with, so I chose this teal blue and gold and silver one. To make it work with the rest of the outfit, I wore a teal bracelet and ring; for earrings: gold stick, which matched the zippers on my pants. Makeup: marigold eye shadow and teal eye liner.

Hey, maaan ☮

A couple weeks ago, we went to a local fall fair, so I tried to 'dress' for the occasion (pun intended). I wore a (very comfy) tie-dyed, ruffly, high-low maxi dress with a black floppy hat and moto-boots. Since the dress is a see-everything material, I wore a faux suede obi belt to thin my stomach and, to match, long faux suede tassel earrings. Inspiration for this outfit comes from the catalog clipping far below. Lots of compliements on this dress!

Dress: hand-me-down from Godmother
Hat: Kohl's, a few years ago, $15, clearance
Boots: K-Mart, closing store sale, $10-15
Earrings: Warehouse jewelry sale, $2
Belt: Rainbow Shops???, clearance, $5

Hermoine!!!

I was wearing a lot of black and white during this week, for work events. This outfit reminded me of Hermoine Granger with the collared top and skirt, more so when I had flat boots on. I added a ribbon around the collar and wore black dot earrings. After I finally changed shoes, I put on ankle boots.
Top: T.J. Maxx, a couple years ago, $12.99
Skirt: Rainbow Shops, years ago, $9?
Ankle boots: NY&Co., last year,  $30

Go Sox!

Friday, I wore pseudo-Red Sox colors to cheer them on in Game 1. Since the fall weather has been kicking in, it was a good day to wear some burgundy ankle boots (and wear something a little more business-casual since it was the end of the week) with navy skinny ankle pants and a casual navy and cream fitted tee. I dressed the outfit up with this burgundy, lace trimmed blazer and wore cream lace-designed metal earrings to bring together the lace in the blazer and the cream in the tee. For makeup, I wore burgundy lip gloss and cream and navy eyeshadows with navy eyeliner.

Blazer: Venus, $30?- spent a little more than normal on this since I HAD to have it
Shoes: Rue 21, $15-20?
Pants: H&M, $12
Tee: (have had for years), $5, store in AZ
Earrings: Holida y warehouse sale, $1
Makeup: eyeliner: given to me: cream- Ulta, Navy; Avon (have had for years)

Grey day, grey pants

I wish I could say that it was rainy just the other day but, it's been raining all week again! Despite my usual efforts to wear bright colors to cheer myself up on a rainy day, I wore charcoal grey ankle length dress pants. They go well with this dark, multi-color floral top, which is lined with charcoal material and has grey tones in the print. While my top and pants are dreary colors, I did manage to bring out the pink accessories to go with the pink flowers. I wore pink heels, pink bracelets and pink rose earrings as well as a pink flower ring. For makeup, I wore blush lipstick and blush and navy blue shadows. I used a reversible grey handbag.

Monday-Funday

Again, it was a rainy day, I wanted to wear something...different and had a hard time deciding. I ended up referring to some magazine clippings for some inspiration and saw a wide wrap-around belt in one of them. Since this belt has a snakeskin print, I decided on a sleevless top with the same (print) and happens to be in autumn colors. I could have worn a burgundy skirt, but I opted for black since I thought it would look nicer with the belt and not too outrageous. Then, for shoes, I was tossed up between the beige and black color block (shown below) or solid black. Since I don't get to wear these often, I went with the color block. I wasn't sure they matched, but I think they do well enough. For jewelry, I decided to stay simple since, again, I didn't want to look like I was going clubbing, so I wore silver hoops to match the loops on my belt and shoes. I always try to keep all of the metals the same color. For makeup, I wore burgundy lip gloss and tan and black shadows.
