Stewardess

I think the fad is on its way out these days, but I only rediscovered ribbon recently. When I was in my late teens/early twenties, I would wear a ribbon around my neck as a choker (that's right- just a piece of ribbon you can buy at the craft store). Now, I'm wearing the same kind of craft store ribbon, but as a feminine bow-tie, if you will. However, with this light blue sheer button down, I might look a bit like a stewardess. Nonetheless, I still liked the outfit and even scored some compliments at work that day. I wore the top with black paper-bag pants and black patent leather heels, to keep the outfit nice and dressy. For jewelry, I wore black stick earrings to both keep with the color scheme and keep it simple

Sparkly and Shiny

Tis the season to be sparkly! A couple weeks ago, I wore a grey sequin sweater vest with a white long sleeve shirt, a black skirt and grey tights (to match the grey top, but also to break up the black skirt with the black boots). To dress up the long sleeved tee, I wore a black 3/4 blazer and, then, brought the black together with the grey with a black scarf. For jewelry, I wore long dangly earrings with clear gemstones (I haven't worn these in so long, I almost forgot about them). To match, I wore a clear gemstone bracelet set my Aunt made especially for me. For makeup: grey and black eyeshadows and pink lip crayon that went nicely with the sequins.

Matching everything possible

I wore this outfit a couple weeks ago and LOVE it! Not only was it fun to put together and match up, but it looked cute. Floral clothing is usually fun for me to play with since there are so many colors to work with.  I wore this blanket scarf with a black skirt and tights as I do not currently have another skirt that would match. But, to make it work, I wore a black tee underneath this sheer top. I wore cream and gold heels to bring together the lighter colors on the upper part of the outfit. For jewelry-- lots of it, I wore a necklace that was purchased at the same time as the scarf since they matched so well in the store (both gifted to me), a peach rose bracelet and peach rose stud earrings, purple and gold dangly earrings (the purple beads go with the purple beads in the necklace), a gold and purple ring, and gold bangles....because all of the other jewelry was not enough. :) For makeup, I wore gold lip gloss and peach and purple eye shadows with purple eye gel liner.

Bringing back the 90s

I've been looking for an inexpensive pair of Docs for years now. I finally found a worn-once-only pair for $61 on eBay!! This is more than half the cost of what they normally cost and they are practically brand new. Needless to say, after searching for so long, I was excited to wear them. I decided to pair them with some black ponte pants and a faux pink suede/leather jacket, to make them seem more feminine. Furthermore, I wore a pink and black tie-died 3/4 top, pink rose earrings and a pink rose and black headband. I also wore a black scarf and antique gold stick earrings, to match the hardware on my jacket. For makeup: pink and black shadows and pink lip crayon.

Life is peachy

This peach high-low duster needed to make its way out for the fall. Since pants are uncomfortable these days, I opted for a skirt....a maroon one! To pull the maroon into the outfit, I wore a multicolored floral scarf with maroon in it and maroon heels. I wore black tights to balance out the outfit. Then, I wore a peach rose bracelet with peach rose, gold and pearl earrings along with black rose studs. The rose earrings will go with the lace and the flowers on the scarf.  For makeup: maroon lip gloss and peach, cream, maroon and black eye shadows.

Sip some Cognac

I had wanted to wear this duster a couple weeks ago. I decided to wear it with cognac colored leather and antique gold: an old macrame belt with a cognac leather and antique gold buckle, an antique gold bib necklace, antique gold stick earrings and cognac booties (and cognac casual flat boots for getting around). For makeup, I wore berry lip crayon and cream, purple and black eye shadows, to go with the purples in the macrame.

Dust.That.Dirt.Off.Your.Shoulders

Last week, I wore this long duster vest. This looks great with pants and heels, but it was a skirt kind of day. This time, I wore it with a black pencil skirt, black tights, a black long-sleeve tee and a a belt. The belt, including the buckle, matches my boots really well. For earrings, I wore silver hoops to go with the buckles. For make-up, beige and black eyeshadows.

Belt: alloy.com, set of 2, clearance, approx. $5?
Boots: Just Fab, last year, $20

Matching spikes, matching colors

This is probably my favorite skirt because it's so unique. Like a lot of things I like to wear, it has a lot of colors, which makes it more fun to match things with and try out different outfits. This time, I specifically wore it with these brand new boots that I bought at end of the season last year. The accents on the shoes match perfectly with the spike accents on the skirt. I then realized this multi-colored scarf has all of the same colors as the skirt. Since the print on the scarf made it a stretch, I added a solid brown scarf so it wasn't too much color. For jewelry, I wore silver bangles, one of which is spiky, an additional shiny cuff and shiny silver spike earrings to match. I put my hair up and threw on a blazer over my top to make the outfit look a little more formal for work-- not too artsy. For makeup: aqua blue, dark brown and black shadows.

Fringe benefits

I wore this outfit a couple weeks ago, but instead of the skirt, I changed into ankle pants bcause I looked too much like a flapper. The shirt is difficult to wear because it gets tangled on everything....
At any rate, here you see it with matching color-block heels, and antique gold chandelier earrings, as well as black rose earrings to go with the flowers in the lace. I wore my hear tucked into a head wrap for a classic look. Lastly, I wore gold and black eye shadows and gold lip gloss.

Earrings: Gold: hand-me-down from Aunt, from the 80's?; Rose: eBay, $3-5, 6-pk
