Spring!!!

It hasn't felt like spring this season, but I can certainly dress for it. A couple weeks ago, I wore a periwinkle cardigan with a teal tank, inspired by this multi-color periwinkle, navy and teal bead necklace. I wore navy ponte pants and ankle boots and, for other accessories, added teal circle earrings; a round, light blue woven handbag; a periwinkle white beaded headband; and a blue and periwinkle beaded ring. For makeup, I wore periwinkle and blue shadows with teal liner.

This is what I love about collecting and coordinating- the colors; the mix and match. Here, I wore cobalt blue cardigan with a green tank with a multi-color block belt and a multi-color beaded necklace with orange hoop earrings and an orange ring. I wore rust leather booties and a matching handbag, in which the hardware and leather match the belt. 

For makeup: cobalt and orange shadows and a bright lipstick.

I heard it through the grapevine

I could be a raisin or an oversized bruise here. I actually like how this outfit came out, quite a bit. Both (lavender and, well, raisin) cardigans were hand-me-downs from my Godmother. I wore them with black ponte pants and ankle boots, but added plenty of accessories: a plum beret, a long multi-strand necklace with a purple beaded gem charm, a shorter multi-strand purple, beaded necklace with a peacock charm, a silver and lavender ring, purple beaded hoop earrings and a beaded cuff. The beading on the shorter necklace goes well with the cuff and the earrings. I added this purple iridescent geometric, foldable, re-shapeable handbag. 

For makeup: fuchsia lipstick, and purple shadow.

A friend of mine had a baby, so I took maternity leave.

We do know a few new babies and, it's true- I do have a friend (or 5 that had a baby recently (one friend, in particular- you know who you are mu-wah!), but I really just went on a vacation, took a new job and accidentally found myself on hiatus. The new job doesn't require me to dress up as much, so I'll admit, I'm not wearing as many cute outfits these days, especially when I'm working from home! 

But, here, you'll see an outfit I wore back in February-- I don't even have bangs anymore! This retro-printed cocoon cardigan was a Holiday gift from my mother. It perfectly matches this necklace I've had for years with its peach and lime flower charm. With the cardigan, I wore a dusty rose, puff shoulder blouse over a neon green tank, black ponte pants and dusty rose booties. For additional jewelry, I wore a faux gem ring to match another necklace charm, and peach rose earrings. For makeup: neon green and peach shadows, dusty rose lipstick. I added an adorned dusty rose headband- the metal beads match the necklace metal. 

Valentine's day 11

Not my typical selfie, but here's what I wore on day 11 of Valentine's colors, in this case- maroon. I had on paper bag jeans with Docs and a maroon v-neck long sleeved tee with a multi-color floral scarf (hints of maroon and marigold). I added a vintage marigold belt and beret. For makeup: marigold and black shadows with burgundy lipgloss.

Valentine's day 10

I love this asymmetrical tartan, antique-lace lined blouse. It generally only comes out for Christmas and Valentine's Day. With it, I normally wear black ponte pants and high heel ankle boots and a black cardigan. For jewelry: black antique lace earrings. Makeup: black shadow and red lipstick.

Today, I wore a floral mock-neck with a peach, ruffly blazer, burgundy ponte pants and matching ankle boots. Lots of jewelry: a peach rose bracelet, peach rose earrings, a cream rose ring, and a beaded maroon and pink necklace adorned with an antique floral charm. Makeup: burgundy lipgloss and shadow.

Today I went back to blush- a pencil skirt and ankle boots with a purple and blush floral wrap. For makeup: black and blush shadow and blush lipstick.

Valentine's day 5

I swapped from blush to maroon today so I could wear my maroon rain boots (not shown). Here, I wore this long maroon, split front tunic that juussstttt fits. With it, I wore matching heel ankle boots, black ponte pants, and a floral scarf with black, cream, maroon and marigold. Jewelry: a cream rose ring (to go with the cream lace in the scarf) and maroon tassel earrings. Makeup: maroon shadow and lipgloss.

Still rolling with the blush. Today, I wore this blush sateen cape blazer with matching sweater stiletto ankle boots and a navy pencil skirt and tights. Underneath the blazer, I wore a floral print long sleeved shirt that has maroon, navy, grey and pink tones in it. For accessories: a blush floral ring, a navy headband and pink acrylic hoop earrings. For makeup: blush and navy shadows with navy liner and blush lipstick.

Like I said, I've collected a lot of blush (antique rose) over the years. Here, I broke it up with some cream- someone told me my clothes looked old fashioned. I wore a blush puff shoulder blouse with a cream lace, ruffly vest; an ombre blush and cream scarf; and cream, lacy earrings. I added a blush flower ring and a cream rose ring and, both, cream and blush bangles. Shoes: blush ruffly ankle boots. For makeup: blush, cream and black shadows and blush lipstick.

I've collected a lot of antique rose over the years. Here I am in a place, ruffly mock neck and matching ruffle ankle boots. I added more antique rose ruffle with this shawl and threw it over my jacket outdoors all while toting an antique rose handbag (not shown).

Valentine's day 1

It's that time of year again and I'm officially in pink and red for the next 14 days. Today, I launched off my favorite Holiday season with a hot pink, faux satin skirt, matching fray earrings, a pink panda ring and fucsia lip stick. For outdoors, a fucsia handbag and magenta beret. 

With all of this pink, I wore a black cowl neck sweater and black knee high boots.

Just in time for Valentine's Day?

My outfit plans crashed when my husband and I got COVID in December, so there were limited outfits for the Holidays this past season. BUT.... I'll be wearing red (and pink) starting next week for my favorite Holiday, Valentine's!!❤️ For now, here are some from the week before and of Christmas. 

Hiatus; teal

Teal is one of my favorite colors. Here are some outfits from summer and fall- all work outfits. All the same pose. hahaha!

For make-up, I use a teal shade from Tarte and then whichever matching lipstick (i.e. fuchsia with fuchsia clothes; blush with blush clothes, etc.) Sometimes, I'll just use a matching shadow and a teal liner instead. 

Hiatus; marigold

I've collected a lot of marigold accessories and clothing over the past 5-7 years and love wearing it with all different colors! Except...it's probably not the best color for me like if Kathy Griffin wore red. Anyway, here it is with black and white, cobalt, plaid multi-colors, purple and grass green. Always one thing in common- marigold eyeshadow. 

Hiatus; rust

In the spirit of Thanksgiving, I'll focus on fall colors today- here is rust and browns.

Hiatus; ways to wear burgundy

Well, I haven't posted since the beginning of fall, I think, and here we are closer to the Holidays. So, in order to catch up, I'm posting numerous outfits at one time in a color scheme. Here are lots of outfits in burgundy/maroon. Some end of summer, some fall, mostly for work, some for casual and rain.

Later in the summer, I wore this asymmetrical, ruffle-cap-sleeve top with teal and black plaid ponte pants, and black pointy heels. Someone told me I looked like I belonged on the runway (it wasn't meant to be a compliment, but I transformed into one). To match the tips and bottoms of my shoes, I wore a rose gold ring and dangly earrings. For makeup: teal and black shadows and red lipstick.

My aunts feed into my addiction

This teal and cream print skirt and seashell/aquatic necklace generally only make it out once a year and only during the summer. With them this time, I wore a teal cardigan and aqua tee with beige heel sandals, a beige belt, a beige handbag and matching knot headband. And, in case the noisy necklace wasn't enough, I added another teal and aqua beaded necklace. For makeup: cream and teal shadows with a teal liner.

On this day, I was running errands, but had been wanting to wear colors to match this llama cross body. SO, here I am with a sheer, peach spaghetti strap tank with a grass-green tank underneath, a grass-green bangle and peach rose bracelet. For earrings: green rose and peach rose studs. 

I likely wore minimalistic makeup, but would have worn peach shadow and green liner with a peach lip gloss.
