Match your metals

I really like this outfit- so much color, so much you can do with floral print. Here, I wore a colorful floral print, sleeveless, ruffle-front top that zips up in the back. With it, I wore cobalt blue high-waist, belted dressy joggers and nude T-strap stilettos. And, so many accessories: a seafoam green bag, an oversized teal rose ring, cobalt rose studs, antique gold danglies (to match the zipper on the blouse), a teal mosaic necklace (that matches the print on the top very well), a blue and green peacock print antique gold necklace (matches the earrings and blouse zipper). For makeup: cobalt and teal shadows with teal liner and a red lipstick.

TEAL me about it

I think this was a shopping day with my aunts back in December. I wore faux suede tan leggings with a teal ruffle sweater and knee-high riding boots. I added a camel knit pom pom beret and a cognac leather handbag to match my boots. The inspiration for this outfit was actually from these tan and teal handmade clay earrings a friend gifted me. For makeup, I wore camel and teal shadows and a teal eyeliner.

Handbag: birthday gift from niece

Who wore it better? (goth version)

I love this button-up mock-neck dress.  I really wanted it in camel but waited too long to buy it (which was two-three years ago). So, alas, I got it in black. But, doesn't it remind you of the High Priestess or some kind of Cardinal? Or, perhaps Goth  Billy Corgen, Uncle Fester or Papa Emeritus IV??

Preppy Super Hero

This is not what I actually wore today but something I wore just after the Holidays in January. Here is a long, split maroon tunic top along with camel ponte pants and maroon knee-high chunky heel boots. The inspiration for these colors together was this (very old) camel and maroon argyle handbag I've had since high school. (Anyone remember Contempo?) I added a camel belt and pom pom beret for outside. For jewelry, I added a gold-tone necklace and long, dangly earring set; for makeup: maroon and camel shadows and maroon lip gloss.

Almost Valentine's Day xoxo

This was right before Christmas so thought it was fitting to post the day before Valentine's Day since... red.
This is one of my favorite shirts which really means I wear it even less: a sleeveless asymmetrical, red plaid blouse, lined with black antique lace. I wore it with black ponte pants, a black blazer and black fur-lined, knee-high, chunky-heel boots. I added long, black doilie earrings and, for makeup: black shadow and red lipstick.

Top: NY&Co., sale, a few years ago, $23

Almost an Entire Outfit From Amazon

Back in the fall, shackets were all the rage. They're totally cute with jeans and boots but for work, I wore this beige and black plaid shacket with black ponte pants, a camel turtle neck and camel ankle boots. I added antique gold dangly earrings to match the zipper on the back of the turtle neck. For makeup: camel and black shadows and a bright lipstick.

Shacket, pants and ankle boots: Amazon, $27; $17; $20
Turtleneck: Rue 21, $5-7
Earrings: given to me, from Aunt

Coppertone

Another outfit from fall, here. This copper, wrap-around sweater dress has a back story. A co-worker of mine (at the time) wore it one day and I liked it so much, she shared the link with me. I wouldn't spend the money buying it for myself so I added it to my Amazon wishlist. Then, a friend surprised me with it for my birthday!

Here, I'm wearing the dress with thigh-high boots and an aqua blue tank underneath. The inspiration for aqua and copper together comes from a necklace my Aunt gave me (shown below). To pull a little bit more aqua into the outfit, I added aqua dangly earrings, and a beaded aqua ring. For makeup: aqua liner, copper shadow as copper lipstick. Note: it does bother me that this outfit is unbalanced; all the black on the bottom and only aqua on top.

Dress: birthday gift, Amazon
Boots: NY&Co., $30
Tank: Kohl's, $5
Necklace: given to me from Aunt
Earrings: birthday gift years ago, Pandora
Ring: $1, a town summer fair

I wish MLK was still here

It's already been a tough year in society. While we were celebrating MLK's legacy, others were, still are, and likely will always be, waiting for justice. I've always been a big MILK follower and believer in his philosophies. And, it seems like we need him now more than ever. Yet, below, here I am talking about something as silly as the outfit I wore in his honor.
RIP Keenan and Tyre
***
There's no way I wasn't wearing my MLK tee to work that day. I don't normally wear jeans to the office but they were the only type of pants that would work with it. To dress it up a bit, I added a cobalt blue blazer and black high heel ankle boots. I wore cobalt tassel hoops, a silver and blue statement ring, and a #dream bracelet; for makeup: cobalt eye shadow and a neutral lip stick.

Blazer: Kohl's, sale, $11ish
Tee: Amazon, $14
Jeans: Old Navy, $15
Ankle boots: The Shoe Store, $11
Earrings: Macy's Backstage, $5-7

Find a cheaper version

A friend gave me this black, maroon and cream patterned romper a few years back and it's become a fall go-to. I wore this to work in the fall with maroon ankle boots. For outside, I added a long, frayed denim jacket I had to have this past season- I saw it first at a boutique for about $80, but bought a cheaper version online for $30. I know, I know- I really do support small, local businesses...just not every-single-time (holding my head down low). I added cream, metal lace cutout earrings to go with the design on the romper and, for makeup: maroon shadow and lip gloss.
Romper: hand-me-down
Shoes: Rue 21, $11
Earrings: $2, warehouse jewelry sale
Jacket: $27, Amazon

Geo Tracker

Remember the car brand, Geo? I was only reminded of it when trying to think of names for this post. Here, I wore a camel, black and burt orange GEOmetrically patterned shawl with a camel peplum sweater, black ponte pants, and burnt orange booties. For accessories, I added a burnt orange costume ring and these very beautifully hand-made beaded earrings, which happen to match perfectly. For makeup: burnt orange and black shadows with a bronze lipstick.

Shawl: $5, Charmed and Dangerous, garage sale
Pants and shoes: Amazon, $17; $20
Sweater: NY&Co., Sale, $20ish
Earrings: birthday gift, hand made by a friend (Calisi- Etsy)

πŸ–€ Tightless πŸ’›

This is an outfit I wore to work back in the fall. A few years ago, a friend suggested thigh-high boots with this floral marigold mock-neck dress and I really like them together. Also- such a great way to not have to wear tights. I added a blazer and marigold tassel earrings. For makeup, I wore marigold and and black shadows and fuchsia lip stick.

Dress: Macy's Backstage, $15-18
Blazer: Have had
Boots: NY&Co., $30
