TU-nacious

This was the first week of December, I think. With this black, multi-color plaid, puffy-sleeve tunic, I focused on the maroon this time by wearing a maroon tank underneath and maroon ankle boots and maroon shadow and matching lip gloss. For pants, black ponte. For jewelry, I just wore black tassel earrings.

Scotch

I love this red tartan, asymmetrical high-low, lace lined blouse and the funny thing is I wear it maybe twice a year- Christmas time and Valentine's time. Generally, I wear it with black ponte pants, a black blazer and some sort of black boots- here: knee high. For earrings: red rose studs to go with the red and the lacy pattern and long, black crocheted earrings.
For makeup: red lipstick and black shadow.

Rose Nylund 🌹

I think this was actually the first Holiday outfit I wore this season: a maroon pleated, satin, calf-length skirt with a sheer, floral, ruffle mock-neck blouse and maroon knee-high chunky boots. Instead of my normal peach rose everything (with the exception of rose studs), I focused on the olive green in the top too just it Christmas-y, so added a casual olive belt and adorned it with an oversized cream rose; an olive lacy ring; and an olive and silver earring/necklace set. Lastly, I added a cream rose ring. For hair, I threw it into a bow up-do, not my best work. For makeup: olive and maroon shadows, brown liner, and maroon lip gloss.

Skirt: Sears, $20
Top: JC Penney, blowout deal, $8-10
Boots: The Shoe Store, clearance, $10
Belt and earring/necklace set: hand-me-down
Rose clip: wore in my hair at my wedding, eBay

"You look like an elf"

Last week, I wore these red and purple plaid skinny pants with a purple mock-neck blouse, a red shawl and black chunky chelsea boots. I wore purple and gold geometric chandelier earrings and very similar necklace (not even a set!) with red rose studs and a purple and gold cocktail ring. I added a gold belt, instead of black, to go with the gold toned jewelry. For makeup: purple and gold shadows with purple liner and red lipstick. For hair, I did a little bow up-do, though but my best attempt.

Shoes: Kohl's, $15.99
Shawl: hand-me-down with matching dress

We went to a Holiday play this night so I wore a red sateen one arm, one off-the-shoulder blouse with black ponte pants and black chunky-heel, knee high boots. I added black and gold tassel earrings and, for makeup: gold and black shadows and red lipstick. πŸ’‹

Rearview Mirror

This was a night out with friends to see some live music. I had planned to wear over-the-knee boots with shorts... which I still did.... except I added tights underneath because no one wants to see my icky rear thighs. So, here I am in fuchsia shorts (over black tights) with black over-the-knee boots and a black blazer over a cream ruffly spaghetti strap blouse. I wore fuchsia sparkly long earrings and, for makeup: black shadow and fuchsia lipstick.

Shorts: Old Navy, $15
Blazer: Charmed and Dangerous, $32
Blouse: Temu, $5
Boots: NY&Co., sale, $20

Indiana Jones Barbie

Still not in red as this was in between Thanksgiving and the beginning of December, but I do promise some Holiday outfits.

Here, I wore a lot of antique rose, all planned around the blouse, printed shawl and tassel necklace. I added a cream, lacy vest with black ponte pants, blush ruffle ankle boots, and an antique rose wide-brim hat. For additional jewelry, I added purple bead dangle earrings, cream rose studs and a purple flower necklace with cream and blush bangles and cream rose and antique rose rings. For makeup: antique rose, cream and purple eye shadow, purple liner and blush lipstick. The purple added in this outfit matches the purple flowers on the shawl.

Game of checkers

We're getting to the in-between fall colors and Holiday colors now! This was a couple weeks ago when I wore these cobalt dress joggers with a charcoal, red-orange and cobalt checkered mock neck poncho. I wore charcoal ankle boots and cobalt tassel and red rose earrings with blue eye shadow and liner and red lipstick. Since the poncho is (meant to be) so big, I tucked in the front of it; an easy way to show off what you body actually looks like without having to tuck in the entire top.

Pants: NY&Co., clearance, $17ish
Shoes: The Shoe Store, years back, $20

Lego blocks

I suppose I can justify my fall color posts in that it may be the Holiday season, but it's still technically fall.  Here, I wore a camel peplum gold-asymmetrical zip-up cardigan with black ponte pants and a rust, camel, charcoal and black geometric shawl. I added rust ankle boots and rust beaded hoop earrings and a matching ring. I also added a gold geometric statement necklace with grey, black and cream colors- matches the shawl well. For makeup: rust and camel shadows and camel lip gloss.

Shawl and necklace: Charmed & Dangerous, garage sale, $5; Upstairs sale items: $7
Sweater: NY& Co., sale, approx. $23

Jade=Fortune

Still getting through fall outfits! This was when I was going to breakfast one morning and I hadn't worn this 3/4 accent-sleeve, jade green shirt (not shown) this season, so I paired it with this multi-color plaid scarf and a mint green moto-jacket. I wore jeans and brown boots with brown wooden hoop earrings. The brown and jade both match the colors in the scarf. For makeup: mint and brown shadows and brown liner and red lipstick (not shown).

Shawl and boots: Rue 21, $5; $15
Mint moto-jacket: Kohl's, Lauren Conrad, clearance, $9ish
Accent sleeve top (not shown): Charmed and Dangerous, $24

This skirt is as old as rust

This brown, floral button-up skirt is almost 30 years old!! It was my mother's and she surprisingly still had it and gave it to me about a year or two ago. With it, I wore a rust ruffle-sleeve sweater and brown knee-high boots and a rust wide-brim hat. For jewelry, I went with olive to match the leaves in the floral print- a long silver tassle and olive adorned necklace and matching earrings along with an olive tulle ring. For makeup: olive shadow and brown liner with a rust lipstick.

Does this hat make me look like a state trooper?

Gotta get these fall colors posts wrapped up before December gets here! This was just after Halloween. I wore a black and floral patterned sweater mini skirt with an olive long sleeve sweater/parka over an aqua blue tank. The skirt print has orange, light orange, aqua blue and olive, so it's fun to match with. I wore burnt orange ankle boots with black tights. For jewelry: a burnt orange ring and beaded hoops with a multi-color statement necklace (teal, burnt orange and light orange) and a teal and orange tiger cuff. Makeup: orange and olive shadows with teal liner and a rust lipstick. For outdoors, I added a burnt orange wide-brim hat.

All things RUST pass

This was still leading up to Halloween so I'm in a rust wrap around tunic dress with black ponte pants and matching rust ankle boots. (Seem to be THE boots of the month.) I also wore the same ol' rust oversized ring and beaded hoops. For makeup- again, rust shadow and lipstick.

This outfit is, both, pretty basic for me, but also really comfortable. In fact, I'm wearing it again tomorrow (for Thanksgiving week) but I'm changing it up this time. πŸ˜‰

Special guest: THE Aunt

I have two aunts I'm really close with, both of whom- let's just say- "contribute" to my clothing collection, and have shared their love for clothes with me ever since I was a kid. (They're probably who molded me into the love-to-shop clothes hoarder that I am today. (See: blog)

This is one of said Aunts. This Aunt has handed down to me lots of vintage belts, lots of tops, dresses and lots and lots of jewelry. Back in October, here she was in a leopard print pumpkin tee, leopard print Blowfish sneakers and, that's right, leopard print dangly earrings. Normally I have a rule of only one printed item in one outfit- one does not want to actually look like a leopard. However, I think she did this one pretty roar-fully. πŸ†

This orange and beige belted color-block dress is so perfect for the season, I wore it twice- once with orange and beige; and once with brown and olive. For makeup: burnt orange shimmer shadow and lipstick.

Garbage bag

I was having 'a day' on this particular morning and ended up changing from one outfit to another. I'm not sure I'm crazy about either of them but still plan to wear this pleather skirt again with something more sleek.

Do you have a favorite top/shoes with this skirt?

Which outfit do you think I wore first?

Do you think this skirt looks like a garbage bag?

Rainy Daze

Whenever it rains, I'm wearing maroon to match my maroon rain boots. There are actually two outfits in these pics but I felt the first was too boring to post. You can see some of it with the necklace and cardigan photo below.

On the second day of rain (not Christmas ;) ) this particular week (about a month ago), I wore teal and black plaid ponte pants with the maroon rain boots and, then, pulled the colors together with a teal tank and maroon high-low blouse. For jewelry, I added a teal, jeweled cuff bracelet and cocktail ring with a multi-strand necklace, adorned with teal accents. For earrings: these multi-color antique danglies that have both teal and maroon colors in them. I added a maroon wide-brim hat to protect my hair from the rain and while in the office, maroon chunky heel ankle boots. For makeup: maroon shadow and teal liner and a maroon lip gloss.

Rain boots: Nordstrom Rack, $24
Pants: Sears, $20
Blouse: NY&Co, sale, $22ish

Rrrrruffles have ridges

Earlier in the fall, I wore this cream, asymmetrical ruffle spaghetti strap blouse with black, lightweight, tapered dress pants and a black blazer. Even though these blush ruffle flats are pretty beat up (wish I had more!), they were too perfect not to wear with this top. For jewelry, I wore cream rose studs and a cream rose ring (not a set). For makeup: cream and black shadows with red lipstick.

Blouse: Temu (I wouldn't advise ordering from there), $5
Pants: Guess, sale, years ago, approx.$20
Blazer: Bob's Stores, years ago, $10-15 plus a $10 coupon(so free or $5)
