No grey areas

I worked a career fair today, so needless to say, I had to look professional. And, when you've worked somewhere 8 years, you've had time to accumulate the college colors. So, here is some black and white overdose. I was careful not to do too much though.

Heels: $11, Charlotte Russe, clearance
Shirt: $16, TJ Maxx
Pencil skirt: $7, half off sale
Bracelets: given to me
Earrings: eBay, approx. $5
Necklace: given to me, Bebe

Sitting pretty

I needed to look professional today for a meeting, so I went for a short sleeved turtle neck, pencil skirt, high bun, (faux) pearls, and....bows! The bow on my belt not only went with the bows on my shoes, but also the material (both satin). I finished off this girly look with pearl earrings and bracelets.

Shoes: $7, Rue 21, Clearance
Belt: Wal-mart, 9 years ago
Turtle neck: Charlotte Rousse, about 5 years ago
Pencil Skirt: $20, Kohl's
Bracelets: given to me
Earrings: purchased on eBay

Flats????

That's right-- I wore flats for once!! I only get to wear these cuties in the fall, in-between seasons. I matched them with a grey short-sleeved sweater and blazer, for the cool morning air. I wore black ankle pants for a fun modernized look. I matched colorful crystal bracelets with my sweater and wore some purple studs to also go with the glimmer. My eye-shadow and eyeliner were both grey and I wore a low knotted bun in my hair to complete the sophisticated men's-ware-goes-glam look. My feather friend? He was not part of my outfit.

Sweater: hand-me-down- free!
Shoes: Steve Madden, DSW- clearance, $20, have had a couple years
Ankle pants: NY&Co., buy one get one free, have had a couple years
Blazer: Purchased over the summer on clearance, $11
Bracelets: My awesome Aunt made for me!

Saturday night!

Going out with the hubby and a friend tonight. Wearing leggings with new shoes and an old shirt I love. I matched spikey gold earrings with my new shoes and a matching bracelet.

Shoes: $11, Charlotte Russe, Clearance
Shirt: $18, JC Penney a few years ago
Earrings: Burlington Coat Factory, Set of 3, $5
Wrap bracelet: Anne & Hope(!!), $1 (by Target brand, Merona)

Freaky Friday

I like to try out new outfits on Fridays since it's more low-key at work. This Friday I wore wide leg trouser pants with a low-v top, to try to get the effect of the photo far below.
I was excited to try out this outfit because I had a new scarf I hadn't worn yet that happens to match a new pair of shoes. I wore black rose stud earrings to match the print on the scarf.

Scarf: $5, clearance, LTD commodities
Shirt: have had for about 8+ years
Pants: $7, clearance, TJ Maxx
Shoes: $15, clearance, Charlotte Russe
Earrings: have had for a few years; purchased on eBay along with a few other colors

Guess how much?

Here are some shoes I ordered on clearance a few weeks back through Charlotte Rousse. My husband is so great to tell me about daily deals going on, but he also feeds into my addiction. (I promised him I would give away some shoes to goodwill to make space...)

Guess how much each order was?

Mixing it up

I blended a textured jacket with a pencil skirt to keep it professional, but mixed in some 'last days of summer' colors with teal blue and camel accessories (shoes and wrap bracelet.) To coordinate even further, I wore circle teal blue earrings to match both my shirt and the shape of the buttons on my jacket. Both bracelets bring the circles together while matching my shoes.
Make-up: camel and black shadow with teal eyeliner and gold lip gloss
Hair: wearing my hair up also kept the outfit professional. This is one of my favorite hairstyles lately- I pulled my hair back into three sections, knotting and pinning.

Earrings: a gift a few years back
Tee: Kohl's $6
Jacket: Kohl's, birthday gift about 5 years ago
Pencil Skirt: Target, 5-7 years ago, approx. $11
Shoes: purchased recently from Rainbow Shops, clearance: $6.50!

Welcome back, blog.

9.20.15

Thank you, jury duty and the general public for inspiring me to start up my blog again. Who are you, girl wearing flip flops, jeans and a baby tee to court, snapping and blowing bubbles with your gum? And, who are you taking your shoes off?! And, you with the skull shirt on. Does anyone dress up for court? And, lastly, thanks to jury duty, I bought my fall edition of In Style. Here are some styles I can pull from my closet I'm looking forward to playing with:
