Mixing spring with fall

Here, I've mixed Spring and Fall together in one outfit. I first started with the plaid, multi-color wrap. From there, I went with navy dress pants, a marigold belt, shoes and bag, and a jade-green 3/4 blouse adorned with crocheted lace (spring) and bell sleeves. The top will be put away for the winter now, but the wrap and marigold are here to stay!

For jewelry, I opted for cream, lace-patterned danglies to go with the cream in the wrap, but the lace pattern on the top. For makeup: jade, marigold and navy shadows, navy liner and red lipstick.

Street Sign, part two

Here I am in marigold and black again. I LOVE this wrap around tunic, though. So, oddly enough, I don't wear it often. Since the top and shoes were both purchased from the same place, I'm more confident that they match perfectly, as where, the top in Street Sign, didn't match that well with the shoes. Here, I wore antique gold chandelier earrings that have strands of marigold, plum and olive beads, which is why I wore a dark plum lipstick. For shadows- marigold and black.

Tunic and heels: NY & Co., waited for a sale: $35/$25

Street Sign

I tend to wear a lot of marigold these days, but often with black. This could be taken as a few things- support for the Bruins, that I <3 Wu-Tang, I'm a bumble bee...or that I look like a street sign. Here, I wore a high-low sheer marigold tee with black and white plaid skinny pants and a black blazer with marigold heels to match. For jewelery, I wore black and white chandelier earrings and a an etched black and white ring. For makeup: marigold and black shadows and a bright lipstick to wash myself out even more.

Blazer: Bob's Stores?, $16
Pants: hand-me-down from Godmother

Heavy Metal \m/

It was a warm fall day, so I was still wearing 3/4 sleeves and no tights. I've also been trying to wear tops that I won't wear all winter. Here, I wore a high-low, sheer-back, light green top adorned with mixed metals. I happen to have, both, a multi-strand mixed metal necklace as well as a bracelet (one of my favs), which both matched the metal details perfectly. I added coppery spike earrings with these new cooper/gold-toe black pumps. For makeup, I wore a gold shadow and gold lipgloss.

Lacy McLace

These shoes were purchased years ago for about $11 or less(??). I can't even remember where they are from. This cardigan was a gift that I found on a clearance rack. They both match very well. And, while the lace heels are black and cream, I have always had a hard time matching them with anything because one would need to wear all black and the exact shade of cream, so they don't come out too often. With the cardigan and the shoes, I wore a black rose bracelet and black rose studs to go with the lace pattern.

Cardigan: Macy's, clearance, gift from Godmother, approx. $7
Pants: NY&Co., sale, $25
Shoes: Alloy?, clearanc, $9-11
Bracelet: warehouse sale, $2

Golden child...I mean toe...Golden TOE

I recently ordered these shoes because they were too good of a deal to pass up for what they were. I tend to get simple, basic heels so I can wear them with many things (for instance, certain buckles don't match certain outfits, so I try to keep the shoes plan jane). However, these plain black pointy heels have a little gold toe accent. I do wear gold a lot, so this wasn't an issue for me. With them, I wore black high-waist tapered dress pants, a black top and a grey business vest. For jewelry, black and gold tassle earrings and a black, gold and grey color-block necklace. For makeup: gold and black shadows with a bright lipstick for some color.

Vest: Charmed and Dangerous, 40% off, approx. $20-24
Pants: Guess, clearance, $20
Shoes(!!!): Amazon, $20
Necklace: Charmed and Dangerous, 40% off, $8ish
Earrings: NY&Co., clearance, $8
Makeup: Ulta, The Body Shop and NYC

Who says you can't wear spring colors in fall?

It's autumn, but it was still warm last week, which meant it was the last hurrah for this peach bell-sleeved blouse. It really is more of a spring top, but SO pretty with the lace sleeves and embroidered purple flowers. With it, I wore a pink pencil skirt and matching heels. For jewelry, I wore a purple rose necklace/earring set, that I wasn't so sure about at first, and a purple gemstone ring. For makeup: purple and pink shadows, with purple liner and pink muted lipstick. For hair, I tied a purple ribbon to my hairtie and put it in a messy bun and, then, added a silver, purple and pink floral (!!) hair clip. Matchy, matchy, matchy.

Top: Charmed and Dangerous, $24
Skirt: Nordstrom Rack, $19
Heels: Rue 21, clearance, $9-11
Earring/necklace set: hand-me-down from mother

Confused/Fall for Tweed

There was a warmer fall day last week when I wore a sleeveless tweed, color block mock-neck. (What a mouthful!) Someone once said that it was funny because this shirt was summer, but winter at the same time- it's confused, I guess. At any rate, I wore it with a black pencil skirt and charcoal ankle boots since it is fall, after all. To keep with the retro look of the mock neck, I wore oversized black dot earrings and added a black and silver ring. For makeup: yellow and black shadows to go with the tweed, and a bright lipstick for the retro.

Top: NY&Co., sale, $25
Skirt: Express, clearance
Ankle boots: The Shoe Store, $19
Earrings: hand-me-down from mother
Ring: given to me from Aunt(??)

Makeshift repeat

See below Exhibit A. I have mocked this outfit a few times, including last week. The difference this time was closed-toed shoes (too cold for open-toed!!). The outfit in the catalog is actually a dress, but I wore a short-sleeved turtle neck with a pencil skirt and threw a ribbon around my neck. I also wore chandelier earrings (and multi-metal bangles to match) and a high pony to boot.

Top: Charlotte Russe, years ago, approx. $12.99
Skirt: Charmed and Dangerous, garage sale, 80% off, $5-7
Faux satin shoes: Rue 21, years ago, $7
Earrings: Alloy, clearance, years ago, maybe $5?
Asstd. bangles: Sets ordered or received as gifts throughout time
Ribbon: craft store

For makeup: fuscia lipstick and teal and black shadows.
