This skirt is as old as rust

This brown, floral button-up skirt is almost 30 years old!! It was my mother's and she surprisingly still had it and gave it to me about a year or two ago. With it, I wore a rust ruffle-sleeve sweater and brown knee-high boots and a rust wide-brim hat. For jewelry, I went with olive to match the leaves in the floral print- a long silver tassle and olive adorned necklace and matching earrings along with an olive tulle ring. For makeup: olive shadow and brown liner with a rust lipstick.

Skirt: hand-me-down from mother, circa 1994!!!
Sweater and fleece-lined-boots:  Rue 21, $8ish(?); $15
Hat: Target, $5
Earring/necklace set: given to me from Aunt
Ring: jewelry warehouse sale, $1
Makeup: Ulta, Esteé Lauder

Super Troopers?

Does this hat make me look like a state trooper?

Gotta get these fall colors posts wrapped up before December gets here! This was just after Halloween. I wore a black and floral patterned sweater mini skirt with an olive long sleeve sweater/parka over an aqua blue tank. The skirt print has orange, light orange, aqua blue and olive, so it's fun to match with. I wore burnt orange ankle boots with black tights. For jewelry: a burnt orange ring and beaded hoops with a multi-color statement necklace (teal, burnt orange and light orange) and a teal and orange tiger cuff. Makeup: orange and olive shadows with teal liner and a rust lipstick. For outdoors, I added a burnt orange wide-brim hat.

Shoes: again, $20
Sweater: hand-me-down
Tank: NY&Co., $5
Necklace, cuff and ring: jewelry warehouse sale- necklace (Betsy Johnson!!!), $5, Ring: $1, cuff: $2

All things RUST pass

This was still leading up to Halloween so I'm in a rust wrap around tunic dress with black ponte pants and matching rust ankle boots. (Seem to be THE boots of the month.) I also wore the same ol' rust oversized ring and beaded hoops. For makeup- again, rust shadow and lipstick.

This outfit is, both, pretty basic for me, but also really comfortable. In fact, I'm wearing it again tomorrow (for Thanksgiving week) but I'm changing it up this time. 😉

Tunic: Amazon, holiday gift from a friend
Pants: Amazon, $17
Shoes: Amazon, $20
Jewelry: jewelry warehouse sale: $1; $2

More orange/rust leading up to Halloween with this rust and aqua blue printed mock neck blouse which I wore with pintuck, high-waist, wide-leg jeans and rust ankle boots. For makeup: rust shadow and teal eyeliner with rust lipstick.

Shoes: Amazon, $20
Necklace: used to be my grandmother's

This was still before Halloween and I was wearing a lot of orange/rust. (I'm still wearing a lot as Thanksgiving approaches.) For makeup: rust shadow and a rust lipstick.

Special guest: THE Aunt

I have two aunts I'm really close with, both of whom- let's just say- "contribute" to my clothing collection, and have shared their love for clothes with me ever since I was a kid. (They're probably who molded me into the love-to-shop clothes hoarder that I am today. (See: blog)

This is one of said Aunts. This Aunt has handed down to me lots of vintage belts, lots of tops, dresses and lots and lots of jewelry. Back in October, here she was in a leopard print pumpkin tee, leopard print Blowfish sneakers and, that's right, leopard print dangly earrings. Normally I have a rule of only one printed item in one outfit- one does not want to actually look like a leopard. However, I think she did this one pretty roar-fully. 🐆

One dress, two colors, two days

This orange and beige belted color-block dress is so perfect for the season, I wore it twice- once with orange and beige; and once with brown and olive. For orange jewelry: an orange cocktail ring, orange beaded hoops and a multi color beaded necklace. I used a  beige handbag and wore beige patent and gold-spike T-strap stillettos. For makeup: burnt orange shimmer shadow and lipstick.

For brown and olive: olive floral earrings, olive lacy ring, same muti-color beaded necklace, and a long silver, olive accented necklace. I added a brown belt and we're wore brown stiletto booties with a multi-color, retro floral, canvas handbag. For makeup: olive and orange shadows with brown liner and burnt orange lipstick. The brown and olive match the hand ag, but specifically the flower earrings.
